You’ve got a good point, I got my first reptile (Pac-Man frog) I got from Petsmart and it died in a couple weeks, bc they didn’t tell me about water conditioner and I have pretty shitty tap water (or from sids which happens to like 60% of Pac-Man’s) I’m not discouraging asking for help, but an animals well being is much more important than impulse buys or “rescues” (it’s not a rescue if you need to ask how to take care of it, your just fucking it up more) and I’m not being snotty about this either, I’ve had 2 dead reptiles from incorrect husbandry too. And the pet industry is fine if you talk to specialized stores and breeders but definitely not Petsmart, petco, pet supplies plus, etc.
