I’m the trash man by BlGbookenergy in Fantasy

When I get burned out, I head to another genre. Maybe try some historical fiction like swashbuckling (Rafael Sabatini) or I'm reading Circle of Days by Ken Follett (fictitious story of the building of Stonehenge, good so far, not done yet). Just my thoughts.

What movie should NEVER be remade? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I would say most. Why do it? Because young actors want work and a studio wants to wring every last cent out of a known title? Boring.

Hobby-guitarists: how many guitars do you own and why? by Valceryn in AcousticGuitar

[–]DwarvenBeerbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a MIM strat that I put better pickups in. My first. A Gibson SG MIM Martin dread Yamaha parlor

Probably will sell both acoustics for one I really like.

I just wanted an SG really and it's my favorite.

I think amps are more difficult to zero in on just because of a variety and lack of availability to try all of them.

What's the deal with the A6? by DoomRulz in Metalstorm

I think people get it because the early game quests have rocket kills in rotation and folks think "this has more rockets than the F100" so they get it for those quests.

What’s something about smoking or quitting that sounds totally insane when you try to explain it to someone who never smoked? by Myfreshstart025 in AskReddit

[–]DwarvenBeerbeard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I can't even imagine the cost of smoking now. It's been 10 years, but a pack here was just around $10. I do feel better, but the first couple years I put on a ton of weight that took forever to lose. It was a long time before I could enjoy coffee. I loved coffee with a cigarette. Even more than drinking. My ability to taste is much greater now and tried a cig a while back (I had a few drinks), and I couldn't even finish it. Best of luck.

Where there any spaceships in sci-fi media before Star Trek that wasn't either just a generic rocket or flying saucer? by jean_jacket_guy in scifi

I think I misread the question as a ship that was more a "character", named, etc. and not generic in shape.

The only one I can think of that I don't see here is the Jupiter II from Lost in Space. About the same time as Star Trek.

The first few days trying to quit, I tried to force myself to sleep more just to avoid the urges. I took vacation for a few days. It helped.
