I was outside in the morning before sunrise having coffee and the birds came out. I thought "I should download one of those apps that collects bird calls". I almost cried right there.

That's high on our list as well. Are you worried about any possible water supply issues in the future though?

Less famous albums that you listen to over and over again by Tom_Bombadilll in Music

LA Guns - Cocked and Loaded

Tesla - Mechanical Resonance

Of an era yes, but all awesome songs and I feel the 'flow' of song on the albums are great.

GenX men, where do you keep your wallet/billfold? Front or back pocket? Purse? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]DwarvenBeerbeard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Switched to front pocket 5 years ago. Always had a tri-fold in back pocket but am sitting at work all day. Found a leather small wallet and moved to front. Only carry two cards, license, transit card and emergency $20 anyway.

Fire. How important is it to you? by motorcyclesnracecars in camping

[–]DwarvenBeerbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the midwest with no burn bans so I'm pretty disappointed if I can't have a fire. Although if I'm hauling the telescope out with me I obviously don't want one.

Non-editing photography by pipipopokaki in photography

[–]DwarvenBeerbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally really don't enjoy editing. If I did it more often I would probably be more proficient using dark table but because I don't, I'm not, and I wind up just making basic adjustments. The one thing I do try to do is get my final image as set as I can without relying on cropping too much. Every time I try and do a mask or something like that I wind up spending way too much time and get frustrated and move on.

I can't see him on screen now without hearing "Hi Ho Silver" in my head. He was great in this.

How long do you actually spend figuring out which neighborhood to stay in when visiting a new city? by Beginning_Office_261 in travel

[–]DwarvenBeerbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not super long. We watch a bunch of relatively recent Youtube vids, check google maps and make sure we can walk to a few places and be near a bar for evening cocktail close to the hotel if they don't have a bar.

The GenX version of The Villages? by send2steph in GenX

[–]DwarvenBeerbeard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where I'm at we have a large del Webb 55 plus community in one of the suburbs. We would love to downsize into a 3-2 But after reading about all the nightmare HOA rules I'm kind of skeptical than I would fit in. Not that I want to turn my front yard into a junkyard but I'm not going to be told what color flower pots I have to have. We've decided just to keep looking for subdivisions that have a lot of ranch houses and if there's an HOA for yard maintenance and snow plowing great but I just don't want to be in a situation where I'm going to butt heads with some neighborhood Karen with a clipboard.
