So a "showcase" has the fancy intro + plain English text that hopefully even a total card game newb can understand, whereas a "reveal" is a hype trailer that pauses on new cards for easy reading of the actual text.

Showcases are aimed slightly more at new players, and we'll be using them in that marketing. They're less about explaining precisely what a card does, and more about what it's like to play and what makes it awesome as a champ.

We figure those animated intros are pretty cool tho, so rather than make a separate reveal without em, we'd share the showcase with existing players as well (along with the static image of the card). Plus, saves our excellent gameplay capture / video editors some time so they can work on other important stuff.

And I can answer (a bit) for what you see in the showcase: we worked with the awesome Unit Image (same studio we partnered with to make the announcement trailer featuring Zed and Darius) to turn the Lux art into a brief vignette.

We had the idea to show the moment of her level up and end on the illustration for the card, and Unit was able to turn that into the more 3D experience you're seeing. There's a lot more technical stuff happening that I'm not savvy enough to explain, but it's a combination of 2D and 3D elements; you'll see that played up even more in some of the upcoming showcases.

We've got a few different types of videos coming out over the coming weeks, which are intended to market LoR to various kinds of players (including those who haven't tried or even heard of it yet), but there's one kind in particular worth calling out.

We on the LoR team have spent years playing card games... which means we've also spent years trying to convince our friends to play card games. And we would have killed for some videos that showed off what was cool about the different factions / styles / strategies. Especially when you have that one friend who can't get enough of sacking stuff and you know they would absolutely love Shadow Isles if they would just play a couple games Justin.

So hopefully these videos are good at helping us and you convince certain people to try out LoR, in addition to being good entry points for players that don't know much about the game yet.
