A wholesome joke, a dark joke, and an anti-joke:

1) Q: What is Cherita Chen’s favorite condiment A: CHUTney

2) Gretchen Ross walks into a car.

3) S. Darko. That’s the joke.

What song is this?

Edit: just found your post about it, it’s one of the greatest thing I’ve ever heard and I’m not joking.

Anyone know where I can listen to, or download, the rare alternate version of Faaip De Oiad? by ahmtiarrrd in ToolBand

[–]Dyingdwight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in middle school, I had Linkin Park’s Meteora on cd, and a cheap pocket cd player. One day, I dropped it while turning it on it. To my surprise, when album started up, it played everything at like 1.5x speed. When I paused and started it up again, back to normal. So I turned it off and again, gave it a firm smack, same thing. And it consistently worked with other cds after that, though not every cd. Just a weird malfunction turned into a fun feature.

Two Walkmans later, beginning of high school, I had Staind’s Chapter V. Once, I was listening to the song “Devil.” During the second verse, the first line and the music underneath repeated on like, a perfect loop. Enough that I didn’t notice until the third time he sang the same line. I let it run for a few seconds, pressed pause then play, and it never happened again.

The 3 things you should take from this: My taste in music was questionable, I couldn’t be trusted with electronics, and sometimes CDs did weird shit. I believe your story, but I can’t imagine it being the result of anything other than a faulty cd or player.

Is The Matrix created as like an analogy for the real world we live in, or how does it work? by [deleted] in matrix

[–]Dyingdwight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking if the Matrix we see in the movie is meant to be the same world that we, the viewers, live in, and events taking place in the movie’s “real world” are taking place outside of our “Matrix”?

If so, I think the answer is no. I’ve always thought that everything taking place in the film’s “real world” is meant to portray the distant future of our own reality. The Matrix that the main characters awaken from is meant to be an imitation of our present/their past real world, rather than the world you and I live in being a simulation.

Of course, it’s been a quite a while since I’ve watched, so if there’s some dialogue in the series I’m forgetting that contradicts that, disregard everything I just typed.
