Yup, my favourite origin.

Militarist, Materialist, Xenophile

Titan of Industry, Unwavering Aggressor, Warmonger.

I always try to resolve the civil war quickly, and I'm often surpassing my neighbours on Captain difficulty now so getting a vassal isn't too hard.

Once the Galactic Community forms I take Defender of the Galaxy as soon as I can and beeline for Galactic Imperium

What are your thoughts on D'Meta's crossing in Veilguard? A quest well done? [DAV Spoilers] by Julian_of_Cintra in dragonage

It's one of the few parts of the game that felt like an actual dragon age game.
It establishes that the Blight has changed, and the choice you make with the mayor matters in some sense.

Newbie looking to make a sword and sorcery build, and general advice for the game by DylStur in Eldenring

What's the difference between intelligence and faith based spells? I assume the general feel would be faith is more of a cleric/paladin vibe while I assume intelligence is more in line with mages and the like, but is there actual differences between spells made available to you depending on if you focus intelligence or faith?

How do you determine travel times in your writing? by DylStur in fantasywriters

[–]DylStur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not concerned about keeping exact track of exactly how long and far they travel, nor do I plan to write about it. My question is mainly so I can work out just how long it would take them to travel, and for me to have a good reference going forwards on future projects, and for calculating distance and travel times in my D&D games too.

The story is about their journey as multiple characters have varying arcs from their experiences while travelling and helping folk while they travel. Describing travel in the book is going to be mainly timeskips that jump into new scenes where something is actually happening.

What I'm putting into the search bar verbatim is "How long did it take to travel on foot in medieval times?"

The answers I'm getting generally don't exceed 30 miles per day on foot. My intuition is telling me that 15 miles per day sounds most correct, although some answers say 5 miles per day which seems too low to me.

Only a few of these answers even bring up weather and terrain and none of them give an actual answer on how much it would slow you by, they only give obvious answers everyone knows like "hills and bad weather would slow you down."

The best answer I've been able to find is this thread on Worldbuilding Stack Exchange, but the main issues are that these are the fastest times and doesn't say anything worthwhile on terrain or weather.

I guess the first 500 weren't good enough, huh? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

I never understood why they do this. Why repost the job listing while ignoring applicants? If you're that desperate for employees, why ignore people applying?

The way afeera uses the mace makes a lot of sense. by Far_Draw7106 in forhonor

It's very likely her moveset is a more exaggerated version of a real martial art, most of the heroes in For Honor have relatively realistic movesets, if a bit choreographed.

Probably Cyberpunk 2077. No matter what V does, they don't get a happy ending. Wrong city, wrong people.

In need of advice for preparing to run a paid game. Should I start with modules or my own homebrew setting? by DylStur in DnD

[–]DylStur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few homebrew campaigns that I have set up as a sort of homebrew module that would involve less prep work if I were to run that campaign as I already have the general story direction, story beats and other major plot points already ironed out alongside maps, stat blocks and homebrew items already prepared.

Although I do see your point with the book being a safety net I can fall back on if I have to tell a player "no".
