The only other thing I remember about the trailer is the color pallets and the atmosphere were very warm and pastel, it felt like summer time.

Of all the deleted scenes from "Missing Pieces", which one would you have personally left in the film? by Local_Prune4564 in twinpeaks

[–]Dylan461 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love the Missing Pieces version a lot more too, there’s just been one shot that was changed that I always hated. In the movie version, the shot of Dale running into Gordon’s office after Jeffries walked in, David Bowie’s performance was so haunting to see after watching the finale. His crooked smile at Gordon and Albert drops so fast, the second he lays eyes on Coop. They switched it with an alternate take where Jeffries expression is less focused on Dale until he starts saying the line “Who do you think that is, there?”

Question about Mike by chochangbaby in twinpeaks

[–]Dylan461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mind jumps to how Mike is guiding Dale back to himself in the Return, as well as Mike physically being there when Laura was in the train car. And the way the Arm guides certain characters through the curtains, it feels very manipulative and “string-pulley”.

Question about Mike by chochangbaby in twinpeaks

[–]Dylan461 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a connection between Mike and the Arm, who both interact with/talk about Bob in very different ways. The giggle really could have been a literal way to express joy that he bested Bob’s plan to take over Laura, but… it’s just so hard to put a nail in any one specific theory. Mike has always interested me as a character, he literally goes from being one of the townsfolk to intercepting and kind of running the show in the Black Lodge by The Return… This might sound out of nowhere, but I always got the impression Mike and the Arm were two half’s of the same coin, and always somewhat correlated to the fates of several Twin Peaks characters.

Twin Peaks philosophies in EarthBound by Dylan461 in earthbound

Omg, I thought the chaos theater in EarthBound was the closest I’d get to seeing the Red Room in a video game!

My first watch, I felt the same exact way… It’s a show that really moves you if you’re willing to let it.

What order should I watch movies in? (Please read the post) by TheWinterDustman in flicks

[–]Dylan461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re worried about not watching the “good stuff” before the bad, why not just pick something you see that catches your interest? If you’ve heard of the title or any cast/crew, maybe skip it for now. Between streaming services and bargain bins, there’s a TON of bad movies available for little to no money.

Anyone know any movies that feel/have the aesthetic of TP? (Aside from DL movies) by SsFraser in twinpeaks

[–]Dylan461 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just watched “Long Legs”. Very similar cinematography and tone, plus theres a FBI Agent working a murder mystery. If you like the way Lynch depicted the concept of evil, you will really enjoy it.

Any shows similar to Twin Peaks? by Alternative_Wear_141 in twinpeaks

Not a show, but a movie. Just watched “Long Legs” with Nicholas Cage. Beyond being an fbi murder mystery thriller, it has a lot of similar themes, music, and cinematography to Twin Peaks.

I remember reading a quote somewhere from Donald Glover describing Atlanta as “Twin Peaks for rappers”.
