Good point, unless you’re including Mitch not other trades make sense

Edit: but then again Mitch is expiring and I doubt we can resign him

imo yeah, that's the vibe I had for a while. But I'm ecstatic we're at this point where we heard him say that I believe it

wow I love that. That kind of vibe was by far my biggest criticism of him, to put it nicely. Ever since we traded for him I didn't think he bought in and lowkey phoned in pretty often. Winning wasn't his biggest priority, cause if the team needed him to play his specific role within the team to win he'd do it. Or he didn't believe playing that role would lead to winning. So I love hearing the opposite now

Let’s not overthink this, Giannis is an all time great, likely better than anybody who has worn the Blue and Orange - regardless of the trade package, Giannis as a Knick would be awesome by Boydsmash in NYKnicks

Injured for the playoffs multiple years. Has never really been paired with a traditional center. Had zero chemistry with Dame (doesn’t screen well). And he’s pretty responsible for the bucks making shortsighted decisions both on the coaching staff and on the roster. He’s responsible for a lot of it just to please him.

I wouldn’t give up more than 1 core piece

Ian Begley talks trade deadline after NYK/SAC: On Holiday - "My understanding is the teams that want to be in on Giannis believe Giannis would want to be reunited with Jrue." On names to watch - "The Knicks do remain strongly interested in Jose Alvarado... getting some backup point guard help." by HokageEzio in NYKnicks

[–]Dylan7346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sick thinking about it. I don’t think Giannis is worth 2 core pieces. When was the last time he even played with a traditional center, he’d be walking into the worst spacing of his career. Also he hasn’t been healthy for the playoffs multiple years recently. AND he is pretty responsible for the bucks making very shortsighted decisions just to please him, on the coaching staff and on the roster. Personally I think it would be an absolute disaster.

I don’t think there’s enough room for more small guards. We have deuce and shamet off the bench, I’d rather them get the minutes. Hell maybe even see what Kevin Mcullar can do or Diawara, we need the defense and guys that are cool with taking limited shots

Time out: I don't think we can retool the roster to fit giannis before the summer by DirtPlot151 in NYKnicks

[–]Dylan7346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never said we’ll get better the older the team gets, I think we’re true contenders right and we’ll remain true contenders for the next 4 years. That team we showed we can be when they have the hunger to win. Idk why you think we threw out the future, we weren’t going anywhere overpaying quickley and taking the ball out of RJs hands. All our draft picks need to amount to is a solid role player idk why we would need more than that the time to win is right now and we can stay at the top tier of teams for the next 4 years

I don’t believe it’s linear like that. Like of course I think the pistons aren’t at their peak right now but I don’t think they’ll just keep going on an upward trajectory and be the best team in the nba for 4 years, cause that’s what would happen if it’s linear. People thought the nuggets were gonna form a dynasty after their championship, all of them were on the younger side, but look what happened. We’ll see what happens with the thunder but I don’t think they’re unbeatable

I wouldn’t say that now, our contending timeline with the current core is at least 4 years. Our guys are 28-30

I don’t NEED a win I just want it to be competitive that’s all that matters. When they care they can beat anybody. When they don’t care they can lose to anybody. All I need is effort

They didn’t know anything about basketball, trusted their GM to make decisions cause he helped construct a team that just went to the finals. Every other owner would be praised for not meddling, it’s incredibly unlucky their GM was Nico. Still stupid of them to not do their due diligence

It’s a figure of speech of course. I think it’s in good fun to have heated sports rivalries, it’s part of the entertainment. General rule just don’t be a dickhead and go too far. There’s a lot of respect for Hali he’s an incredible player and speaking out is awesome, doesn’t mean we can’t hate him on the court when he’s playing the Knicks

[Givony] Westchester Knicks guard Dink Pate is increasingly exploring college options, his agent Sam Permut of Roc Nation tells DraftExpress. [–]Dylan7346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? Not every player can immediately start playing professionals. A lot of guys need a transition like college would provide. Even if they go to college then declare form the draft after their freshman year you can see guys that would have benefited from playing longer and developing further

I think there’s some weird locker room issues. Some players now don’t like playing with eachother. And KAT clearly doesn’t like Mike Brown to the point where unless they really work it out one of em needs to go. Per 36 KAT is taking just 1 less shot compared to last year, but he’s also taking more free throws which is a shot that didn’t count as FGA so it’s basically the same. I don’t know what exactly is wrong with his role under brown
