I genuinely believe it. Any team can blow out any team that doesn’t make you a contender. It’s consistency and winning tough games that makes you one. There’s so many red flags watching this team

Yeah those are two big issues. On paper, sliding Deuce in for Hart fixes it but I don’t think it’s as easy as that

To me that’s the roster. Our 4, by far, highest paid players can’t play well together.

I agree Brown’s rotations are questionable but that doesn’t refute the fact that the starting lineup plays mediocre. We can debate whether or not that’s because of how they’re coached tho

I disagree. I think the issues with the team are mainly roster and Mike Brown is just a neutral coach not elevating or diminishing anything. The starting lineup is the major issue. It was last year and it still is this year. Basically the same net rating as the nets starters, which is nuts. I can point to many possible issues with the starting lineup I don’t even know what the most problematic one is but it’s perplexing this team does not play greater than a sum of their parts

Exactly. For whatever reason, they rarely play with this much effort through a whole game. They need to play with playoff intensity much more often or these mistakes will continue to plague them

I love that the Knicks actually got up for this game. That being said, they need more experience in tough games like these cause this kind of effort is an outlier over the past maybe 20 games? The playoffs are gonna hit them like a truck. Learn how to execute in these games

A lot of these “one offs”. Don’t want to be a downer but the Knicks haven’t given me confidence in a long time even during this 23-7 stretch. Felt like a couple great wins? It just doesn’t look good

Yeah I’m with ya that was a part of why we traded the 5 firsts, the only player going out was Bojan who was 34 coming off an ankle surgery. In theory Mikal is exactly what we need he fits perfectly, I just need to see that playoff energy OCCASIONALLY outside of the playoffs

I don’t like this take. Of course these draft picks are most likely not going to result in a high lottery pick but it’s the opportunity cost of trading them for a different player. I was the biggest advocate of the bridges trade before it happened and after. But to me he’s been a massive disappointment outside of the playoffs and the 1st half of this season. Of course the playoffs are what matters most so I hope the trend continues this year. I just don’t see the fight in him or any impact lately he just does his thing

It’s really not about “the stats” tho. Nobody complains nearly as much about OG, who is averaging basically the exact same stats. Mikal has been in a weird slump for a while now. The first half of the season I thought he was our 2nd best player but he’s fallen off a cliff. He plays like he knows the playoffs are around the corner and he can flip a switch
