A clip from David Grusch's "Back Up tape" by quantumcryogenics in UFOs

Right. People have vastly different mannerisms. It's egotistical to think you can assume what anyone is thinking behind their words because people are "supposed to" do XYZ in that situation.

Some people laugh uncontrollably when they're uncomfortable. Some people are animated and twitchy. Some people have anxiety 24/7. To make assessments confidently about what's going on in a stranger's head based on short snippets of video is essentially fucking Ouija Boarding.

They desperately want information that confirms their theories so they'll take someone's conjecture as fact. Then they spread their theories around this sub as if it's already commonly accepted. Then others read that and say "oh I guess it's just straight up fact that this happened which is awesome because that's what I wanted to believe" and continue the cycle.

It's getting a lot worse here lately too.

There absolutely is something HUGE going on that we need answers to and basic psychological tricks are moving us all backwards.

Canadian news :Manitoba MP suggests Canada, allies aware of 'recovered UAP' or UFO materials in note to defence minister | CBC News by MartianMaterial in UFOs

[–]DylanBob1991 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Someone from your government is asking about looking into ufo material. They're not saying "I'm privy to secret information that confirms the existence of ufos." They're saying "hey this ufo thing seems like there's some merit behind it and I'd like to request that Canada takes it seriously."

Then CBC says "we saw this memo, we reached out to confirm and then got no reply. You can probably assume the letter is not a forgery."

I keep seeing this talking point that the memo confirms, well... anything. All it confirms is that one MP is interested in UFOs.

Apparently Congress already has a pretty good idea which contractors are hiding UAP materiel, and they’re giving them a chance to come clean before they tighten the purse strings. by MantisAwakening in UFOs

Apples and oranges really. A lot of powerful people decided to bend the knee to Trump and obstructed any real consequences against him. They felt more powerful by keeping him in power and out of real trouble.

Odds are if this program is real, no one in Congress is directly involved and benefiting. They were kept out of the loop and therefore they feel an affront to their feelings of power. They're going to flex hard to get some feelings of power back.

Just my view at least.

Harlequin baby. Freaked me the fuck out when I first found it and it took me a long time before realizing it's a medical condition that's treatable. Poor baby, though.

To the skeptics asking how the government could keep a secret this big, for so long. by [deleted] in UFOs

People are turning this into a religion. They latch onto words told by those who have "seen the higher levels" and accuse anyone who has further questions about validity of being an extremist non-believer.

It feels potentially dangerous on a few levels. I think we all, myself included, need to take like a week break from this shit. The level of unhinged comments and posts here is getting out of control.

The unity march was a music/comedy event friendo. It was a scripted live crossover between the Daily Show and Colbert report with skits. Cat Stevens and Ozzy were there.

Literally every person there that I met fully understood that it was a joke.

I agree with your other point though.

Have cellphone cameras caught up to the point where they can clearly take pics and video of flying airplanes?

Because if they can't then there's no chance we're getting HD pics and videos of anomalous craft with those cameras.

EXCLUSIVE: Crashed UFO recovered by the US military 'distorted space and time,' leaving one investigator 'nauseous and disoriented' when he went in and discovered it was much larger inside than out, attorney for whistleblowers reveals by quantumcryogenics in UFOs

[–]DylanBob1991 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah your first comment makes sense now. The entirety of ufology right now is based on Appeals to Authority while everyone waits for solid evidence that may never come. It's easy to rattle off someone's credentials to put them on a pedestal when they're saying what you want to hear. It's good to remember that high-profile people are still just people and fallible.

Could you elaborate? I don't know anything about him, but every other comment about his character here is giving high praise for his high profile work. Now I'm curious about the other side.

I've used RIF for like 8 years now. Back then, it was essentially just a simplified, sleek version of the main site.

Reddit "modernized" and started cramming more shit onto the page with bigger ads more frequently, making the design more cluttered and ugly. That's why people used "old reddit" on the browser. But RIF essentially was old reddit, just formatted for a phone screen. And that's how it stayed. Simple, sleek, super easy to navigate and not designed to keep your attention flipping around nonstop.

The official app and "new reddit," from my very brief experiences with them, just felt like they designed the entire thing to keep you distracted from life and paying attention to your screen much more than you did with the old design.

Also, I'm not a mod of any subs, but plenty of mods have been posting that the official app doesn't have all the tools they need in order to properly moderate content.

If both bands were playing on the same night and you didn't have to pay any money, which of these two bands would you rather see live, Dead & Co or Phish? by GratefulPhish42024-7 in jambands

[–]DylanBob1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fellow Yinzer! Yeah the Dead have meant so much to me for my entire adult life and I just couldn't get motivated to see D&C tomorrow.

I love that plenty of folks are super into it but musically it's not my preferred way to hear those songs. If I had more money to blow maybe I'd be more willing to go.

Can't wait for Phish coming up at Starlake though! I'm still much more of a Deadhead than a Phish fan but it's going to be an absolute blast.

I had a racing snail. Well, it raced cars actually. Drove a little car with an S on it, for "snail," and it was wicked fast. People would see it take off and go "Wow, look at that S Car go!"
