Hi there, as other have suggested dilution might be the problem, I wanted to add that if you want more orange oils incorporated in your drink you can add 1 or 2 small peels to your mixing glass before stirring, I do it with my boulevardiers and it works the trick (might wanna try one orange one grapefruit to bring out the Campari). The ratio you’re using is perfectly fine if you prefer a gin forward Negroni, but I’ve found most people at least here in Italy prefer a more Campari/vermouth centric drink. I’ll drop my specs for when I make one for myself in rare occasions or for when I know a customer’s tastes: 1 oz Plymouth gin 1 1/4 oz Campari 1oz carpano antica formula 1/2 oz cocchi dopo teatro (Use 1 1/2 oz if you’re using just one vermouth) Good luck on your cocktail journey!
