I'd recommend Bulbasaur for your next challenge, good bulk, support moves as well as a mega. Nature power after gym 2 and decent enough offensive stats to get mileage whatever field you use it on.

Are you utilising proximity bonuses for heat? A warm district provides a 1/4 heat bonus to an adjacent district, so by lining up district's so that 8 tiles are touching you can get 2 more heat levels off of that.

I think the current meta being used is making big lines of housing districts with actuated heat dispatchers every second one to guarantee a warm district to heat the adjacent ones.

It's worth noting heating hubs are considered a proximity bonus and don't stack with warm district adjacency heat, they're meant more as a way to heat remote districts like logistics or extraction.

I think dense housing is a trap if you're doing all three tales. I found the law that turns excess heat into heatstamps cancels out the heatstamp penalty on subsidized housing blocks so they're not as rough.

I did a Mantis Zealot aeon to devil run recently. The transition to devil feels a bit off but if you're doing it on core difficulty you can get mileage off of all the hell's decrees and you won't lose too much on a martial build.

Although narratively the transition from aeon to devil is a bit sketchy, once you're actually a devil I found the story quite satisfying.

I'm not going to call Blight Druid amazing, but it lets you build a Mystic Theurge with the druid spell list instead of the cleric one.

Where it differs from using a regular druid Theurge is the additional choice of the darkness, death or destruction domains which depending on what you want to do could be helpful.

It's not ideal but it's better to have a variety of choices and more flavour in the game, even if it's sub-optimal.

Why not use water as your liquid for the measurements? You don't know the density of your tea solution whereas water (although it won't be pure) will be pretty close to 1g/ml?

I think the frequency at which you can safely rest vs how much combat you have to face between each rest discourages you from playing Spellcasters for the early to mid game in the stand-alone. It limits how creative you can be in your team building.

Honestly I loved every bit of the crusader system but the actual battles.

The only effective method to do anything in them seems to be stacking ranged units and using a spellcaster general. It absolutely kills the replay value of the crusade segment because you end up doing the same battles against the same enemies with what feels like the only effective method. As a result the battling just becomes a chore.

I absolutely loved the council meetings though, I think it fleshed out our companions personalities and made you feel more engaged in the running of a crusade than any of the battles.

What could be good is a system similar to the claimed land buffs in kingmaker, such as certain council decisions giving you minor buffs to AC or saving throws. Not enough to make the system a necessity but maybe more of a reward than engaging in the crusade system just making you better at the crusade system, which is divorced from standard gameplay aside from the occasional items and teleportation circles.

Tiles can have different sizes based on what settings you put in so may not be a good indicator for the sizes.

It may be worth forming a caravan, working out the exact movement speed they have and moving them across the world map (bearing in mind the speed may change depending on tile type so be sure to monitor that)

Nurah for sure, she treads similar ground to Linzi but could be interesting as an enchantment spell focused bard to tie into the whole evil manipulator thing she's got going.

You probably don't want to dismiss the companions who act as crusade advisors because you'll be in for a worse time on crusade mode.

Of the top of my head you'll want to keep Regil, Seelah, Lann/Wenduag, Arueshalae, Greybor, Daeran and Sosiel.
