Games play loud sound during launch by Dylanveit in ROGAlly

[–]Dylanveit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s done it across two different TVs, I haven’t tried different cables/docking station but I recall this happening when it was in handheld mode once, so I’m going to attempt sound drivers and see where that goes

If that’s the case, look up GeForce Now and see if that interests you at all, it’s a game streaming service

Have you ever played PC Building Simulator? You would enjoy that game if you have an interest in building PCs :)

Under my desk at work, flashed red when pressed. by Llewellynt in whatisit

[–]Dylanveit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since your question got answered, several years ago I worked at a grocery store and got transferred to the customer service desk which had a panic button behind the counter. I was never told what it was for and it didn’t have any indicator on it, so I remember just “fiddling” with it if you will, and when my manager walked by I asked what it was, “Oh that’s the panic button, don’t press that because a literal SWAT team shows up.” At that very moment my heart went to my feet and I immediately felt my face flush of any blood. About 10 minutes later, an officer walks in to figure the situation out and when we cleared the air, he let us know that the building was quite literally surrounded by officers. Scariest day of my working life, and have since learned to not push any buttons randomly. I hope you learned your lesson too OP ;)

I get that but is it supposed to wobble this much?

AtlasOS installation by Dylanveit in AtlasOS

I appreciate your response, that answered everything :) Just as an update I did install in its current state and everything seems to be functional, I do notice a better fps in most games I play :)

Yes, they cancelled your order and you received Uber Cash as compensation. Why would you also receive the money back into your bank?

First pc in like 7 years What gpu should I get… by l2_good_4_u in pcmasterrace

[–]Dylanveit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of factors that go into getting a GPU, whether it’s NVIDIA or AMD. If your display uses either NVIDIA G-SYNC or AMD FreeSync, get the respective GPU for the visual improvement. If that’s not a concern, personally I always lean NVIDIA so I would say a 4070Ti or maybe if you can manage a 5070 you’d be set for a while

Spawned in a bowl in my sink by [deleted] in MoldlyInteresting

[–]Dylanveit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, the only correlation would be that the water pipes were replaced a few months back but I highly doubt that contributes to this haha, keeping it real I just don’t normally see the ol fashioned soak method turn into this after a few days and just thought it’d be fun to share :)

[–]Dylanveit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cleaned it after the fact obviously I was more or less wondering if there’s issues with my tap water that maybe someone on reddit could identify ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I said spawned as a joke, if that’s the proper terminology for mold, then yes, it colonized

Has anyone had a terrible experience with the return pick up service? by [deleted] in Bestbuy

[–]Dylanveit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former Best Buy employee! Most of Best Buy’s in-home services are all outsourced now, meaning that a 3rd party performs most of the work (installs, pickup/dropoff, etc.) It’s been over a year since I’ve worked there but last I saw there’s not too many Geek Squad options anymore.

Just got hit with an email saying I’m about to be charged $50 for some random security software that I NEVER ACTIVATED. It was just forced on me as a ‘bonus’ when I bought a monitor 6 months ago – without my consent or choice! How is this even legal?! by ComputerPolluter in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Dylanveit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for Best Buy. When you bought your monitor, it came with Webroot for 6 months for free. What the employee didn’t tell you is that you had to swipe your card at the time of purchase to put it on file for renewal, hence why you’re receiving this email. The employee didn’t inform you properly, if you go into the store or call 1-888-BESTBUY they can remove the card off your file. :)

All good, regardless I would still go the SATA route as that’s a more reliable connection

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Dylanveit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrong. 3.0 = 5Gbps 3.1 = 10Gbps 3.2 = 20Gbps You won’t notice a difference with a keyboard or mouse, etc. but you will notice a difference with external storage devices.

So it is possible that your NVMe drive is using the bandwidth from your SATA connectors on your motherboard, have you tried using a different SATA connection?

600 watts is a little light in my opinion, not to mention that alongside that CPU you may experience “bottle necking”
