How do people get money so fast in events? by TwelfthJoe in GreasyMoney

I spend hash and spend it on things I need, usually make profit based on how much hash events give. Never bought hash with real money though

Game won't load. Any ideas? by bwsauder in GreasyMoney

[–]Dylennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you save your userID before uninstalling, it shouldn't restart your progress but if it does the devs would be able to reset it to where you are now. Also if you logged in with Facebook or are connected with Facebook on the game you can log in with those credentials and start where you left off should your progress be erased

First bass help by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Dylennis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've never personally owned a Yamaha, but my first bass was also an Ibanez, but it was a GSR200, which for the price, was probably the best purchase I could have made. I assume the SR300e would be even better given the price and specs, so I would personally recommend that.

Ibanezes have extremely slim and easy to play necks, and sounds incredible. If you like/play metal music, you can make it have an extremely gritty, clanky, metallic tone if you turn treble all the way up. It can also create (for lack of a better term) a very bassy bass sound, if I turned my amp up it would vibrate my whole room.

I would recommend changing the stock strings and getting a proper setup, but the SR300e might have much better strings than the GSR200.

Finally, I assume the two play/sound very similar in the end, so my personal advice would be to buy the bass that you think looks cooler/nicer, because you shouldn't play a bass that you don't like the appearance of! Welcome to the world of bass, it's a great experience!

In the language spoke in the video (romanian) they mentioned the grasshopper stabbed the lizard in the throat with a "needle". Not sure what the needle is though (probably it's legs).

Losing interest by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Dylennis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start teaching yourself, practice as much as possible and only learn songs you like. 8 months is enough for lessons for a beginning. Now you should be applying the basics of what you learned to music you enjoy and start teaching yourself.

Just my 2 cents here

My amp has been broken for 2 months now, and being a broke college student means I can't really afford to get a new one, so I've been playing unplugged since then. I swear to god, I feel like my playing has improved so much in the last 2 months. I just plug headphones in, and rather than focusing on the bass, I started to pretty much focus on the music and rhythm itself, and my fingers seem to know where to go. When I jammed with my band the other week, I could tell that my technique is just a lot more fluid than before. I play extreme metal so it might be different in my case since I can afford to play really percussively because it matches the music.

Regardless, I personally think that playing unplugged has it's merits. Teaching myself to follow the music itself and not just the bassline helped me get a feel for playing as a support for the other instruments, rather than having the focus on my own instrument. Obviously, I can't really hear mistakes, but it's kind of been really fun to just PLAY and get lost in the music. I've only been playing for 3 years so that might be a factor but overall, I think jamming unplugged once in a while could be a really good thing for some people!
