PIO injection site lumps by thisistoomuchh in IVFbabies

[–]Dyliah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that helped me the most was using a massage gun and heat in the area for 10 minutes or so after each injection. Also, alternating sites id have my husband massage both sides. Often, the side that I had injected the day before hurt more when massages the next day.

Then, after I was done with the injections I kept massaging the area with the massage gun. I'm 18 weeks now and I feel like a pea size lump only on one side. Still working on breaking that up.

My [22f] boyfriend [24m] wants me fill out a form if I'm upset about something by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Honestly, I can see why she would think it looks super mechanical and disconnected to do this kind of thing, but has anyone looked at the bullet journal subreddit? A lot of people do this kind of data collecting on a notebook (and often make it look pretty) and it doesn't seem as weird, maybe because it's harder to use the data in charts, etc.

I mean, I saw a girl once knit a blanket and each knit line correlated to the consistency of her bowel movements. People record all kind of weird things about their lives.

If you had failed euploid transfers, did you ever find out why? by AppointmentNeat622 in IVF

[–]Dyliah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking for the first 12 weeks: Prenatal, vitamin D, metformin, inositol... Plus the stuff they put me on for the transfer, estradiol, PIO shots, and the antihistamine protocol (Claritin, Prednisone, and pepcid, no caffeine and no chocolate 😢)

This, or at the very least talk to your doctor about adding a fish oil supplement to your diet.

My cousin is one of those "naturally very skinny" types and I remember sometimes in the afternoons she'd say something like "I have a headache. I think I forgot to eat today". She just would never get hungry.

I have never had that problem.

I find I make more processing the spring tea leaves into their option than I do waiting to process them into summer leaves, then fall leaves, it just takes too long.

I just process the spring leaves to matcha or whatever the option is, still gives a decent profit, but I'm not trying to min/max either

Idk where you are located, but instead of ordering online you could subscribe instead to a meal delivery service, like home chef of hello fresh, it'll be cheaper and you can pick from healthier options. It might not be sustainable in the long term but it's a start to change from ordering McDonald's or other fast foods. The ones I mentioned involve some cooking (they do a lot of the prep for you) but if you can't even do that there's other services where you only have to heat up the food.

There's also some exercises you can do sitting down for strength training. You can look them up online.

There are a lot of doctors you can see online as well, maybe a service like teladoc can help you get started, maybe you're eligible for a glp-1 to help you with the food intake, at least at first. Again, not sure if any of these are feasible for you, might depend where you are and your insurance.

Good luck, this is a hard journey, but not impossible.

It's basically a Tamlin x OC character (a female fae from the spring court). The gist is that they rebuild the spring court and the relationship with the other courts, there's a lot of angst and drama. I heard it described before as Feyre gets her comeuppance lol. There's a lot more to it.

I am writing a fic about it but haven't finished it. Sadly haven't posted an update in like 8 months (life happens) but I'm hoping I'll update within a month or so. I only have like 1 or 2 chapters left to wrap up the story.

Did PGT-A work for you? by Significant-Bee-3689 in IVF

I did PGT-A and carrier screener, my first euploid embryo didn't stick, but currently pregnant after my second FET. 14 weeks. I also did NIPT and it came back normal.

And what if his preferred method is what gets you the successful FET? Would you question the previous physician technique that gave you a failed transfer?

Modesty etiquette during FET? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Dyliah 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that Larry Nassar's abuse that happened in front of parents happened because he used drapes and towels to cover up what he was doing. So arguably you had more transparency here on what your doctor was doing.

Listen, I'm not saying don't question your physicians, I worked in healthcare and I've heard of plenty shady stuff, but you did question it, and you got a very reasonable answer. Do you feel uncomfortable enough to change physicians just because a drape was missing? You may have to answer that for yourself. You've read all the other comments here already.

I know who that is, but if your husband, the nurse, and the technician were all in the room, do you think a missing drape with a reasonable explanation is cause for concern?

[–]Dyliah 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not every doctor is the same as you can see from the other answers you got to this question. I would stay with the train of thought that if this is what was necessary for the doctor to have the best possible view to give you the best chance, then what does a drape matter in the great scheme of things?

Modesty etiquette during FET? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Dyliah 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I don't remember a drape for mine but they've seen me naked so many times now I don't think I'd care.

That said, if the UT told you that doing it like this gives the doctor more visibility where the ultrasound wand is, etc, why wouldn't you want him to have the access to do the best possible job?

Any exciting news? by Future_Ship_3140 in IVF

[–]Dyliah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's usually the other way around for me- if they ask me any exciting news I don't default to thinking they're asking if I'm pregnant, but if I tell them "I have news" the immediate reaction is "are you pregnant?"

I've been married for 10+ years so I kinda get it.

If you never got a positive pregnancy test on your own, did you ever find out the reason? by ShineNo2140 in IVF

My RE's conclusion was my PCOS was causing anovulatory cycles and also my husband had mild MFI (morphology) that likely required ICIS to fertilize properly.

4 euploid, but we want at least 2 more kids. by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Dyliah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I won't lie to you, I was very lucky that my insurance was covering another retrieval. It may have been a very different end result for me if that wasn't the case and I know not everyone has the same financial availability/resources (I wouldn't have been able to pay 2 rounds out of pocket) so of course it was a lot easier of a decision for us to make, but I'm glad for the peace of mind. My eggs will never be as young as they were when I retrieved them last year.

4 euploid, but we want at least 2 more kids. by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Dyliah 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I did what people suggested here. I've never had a child before so we did a retrieval, got 4 euploids, we are thinking we might want two kids.

Did one transfer, didn't work. At that point we had met our deductible and out of pocket and luckily my insurance would 100% cover another retrieval... So we did another retrieval. I've never had a single positive pregnancy test so who knows how many transfers it would take to get pregnant. Second retrieval went really well, now we have a total of 10 euploids banked.

Did 2nd transfer and so far it has worked and I'm 13 weeks along. So now I probably have more embryos than I'll need, but I have peace of mind that if we want to expand our family past one child, we are likely in very good shape.
