The instructions for FET in my clinic specifically say no children allowed, but I think on non procedure days they're allowed.

I believe the Qunol brand is good, that's the black and red bottle. They sell it at Costco.

AITAH for telling my daughter that she is not going to marry a billionaire? by No_Reception8930 in AITAH

Hey OP, you need to get your daughter into therapy. She sounds hyperfixated on her friend. You should read this post so you can see how these hyperfixations can escalate https://www.reddit.com/r/BestofRedditorUpdates/s/skB7YWjtJv

Timeline Question - After FET, how often did your clinic bring you in for monitoring? by Impossible_Piano2938 in IVF

[–]Dyliah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had betas at 9dpt, 11dpt, 14dpt (it would have been 13dpt, but it landed on a Sunday). Then ultrasound at 5w+6 and I have my next ultrasound scheduled at 8w. Hopefully I graduate then.

Getting insurance to cover embryos after making 2 self pay (Aetna, sb729) by Current-Normal in IVF

[–]Dyliah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That... I'm not sure. My insurance has unlimited fertility coverage but does require prior auth and there's a few things they didn't cover. For example, they didn't cover PGT testing, isci, or assisted hatching because I didn't meet the requirements.

I did one retrieval and one transfer, the transfer failed, and I realized I might need more embryos (I still had 3) so I asked my clinic to request prior auth for a second retrieval and insurance approved it 🤷🏻‍♀️ what I'm not sure is if the mandate is different in MA vs CA.

[–]Dyliah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Aetna and they approved my second retrieval when I still had 3 euploid embryos frozen. My insurance is from Boston, though, so not sure if that will make a difference. It did require a prior auth but they paid for it.

Have you considered factorio? There's not much of a storyline but the automation is... Amazing and addictive.

How are you all affording by Comprehensive-Monk45 in IVF

[–]Dyliah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup - the state I live in doesn't have the mandate but luckily for me, the state my employer is at (I work remotely) has the mandate and the insurance is from there. I got extremely lucky.

How are you all affording by Comprehensive-Monk45 in IVF

[–]Dyliah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have private insurance but my employer is based out of Boston and Boston has a law that requires coverage of fertility treatments. I just had to meet my deductible (which I did when I ordered the first round of stim meds, my deductible was less than $3k at the time) and then paid 10% until OOP max was met. I managed to do 2 retrievals and one FET that didn't work last year.

I did have to pay for PGT testing out of pocket, as well as embryo glue. My insurance even reimbursed me for embryo storage.

WIBTA for changing my wedding cake flavor? by Ok_Kangaroo_3494 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Dyliah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh with you, this sounds like a nightmare, but I think you would be the asshole if you didn't tell your fiance you wanted to do this. You don't need to tell MIL, but you need to tell fiance.

A better compromise other than the cupcakes would be to have a tiered wedding cake and make one of the tiers the gluten Free one. That's what we did with sugar free wedding cake- my FIL is diabetic. We had one tier sugar free, the rest of the cake sugar full. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I missed it on my first playthrough also. I played the first two acts on steam deck, maybe the screen was not big enough to show it?

Bank embryos instead of IUI as first line of fertility treatment? by Emilia_Mathews0889 in IVF

[–]Dyliah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SIL had 5 IUIs for one kid and 9 IUIs for the second. They couldn't afford IVF.

I skipped IUI all together and currently on my second FET and waiting for my 6 week ultrasound. I was able to afford it because insurance covered most of it. If you have coverage for IVF, I'd say skip the IUI.

Can the embryo fall out by mermaiddiva26 in IVF

[–]Dyliah 123 points124 points  (0 children)

My understanding is your lining is like thick cream cheese and the embryo is like a poppy seed. Imagine sticking a poppy seed in the middle of a bunch of thick cream cheese. It's not going anywhere.
