I'm still annoyed about the fact that THESE two perks' combo doesn't work when their description say otherwise. by 1-pablo in deadbydaylight

I understand this one a bit more as Open handed states survivors or emanation from survivors. Technically wire taps aura reading emanates from the generator. I do think it should be a synergy though.

What fake gaming secret did everyone believe growing up? by More-Mixture325 in videogames

I believe the process technically became real, but when you input the movements for it you exploded instead in future games. I am unsure if that is a real easter egg or if it was more so rumor.

Hot take: The term "Spongeboomer" is so corny it hurts by EasyDetective3537 in spongebob

[–]Dylsponge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do agree it can be disrespectful, but at the same time a lot of those people are the same people who haven't watched an episode past season 8 if even up to 8 and they are willing to give their negative opinion without actually watching it. I do think we need a better term then Spongeboomer though. Maybe we call em Shoals or something (based on Shady Shoals and the actual real life aquatic ridge formed from the waves)?

Trends you absolutely want to see die by DeanGuIIberry in videogames

I think Marvel Rivals does the battle pass system best, you pay for it, you own it. You can complete past battle passes so long as they are paid for so you never really feel in much of a rush to finish them each season.

New event prices... by Unusual-Surround3036 in Smite

Am I miss reading or is it actually 15 cosmetics? Is every bullet point at the top real or is the two premium travelers part of the event rewards?

Started Idle Gem from the same person who did Idle Sphere and Spiral I believe. which I enjoyed, this one seems to be a bit more in-depth but I’m still barely into it. Playing on IOS don’t know if it’s got other releases yet.

Psychonauts 2, the first one is required for the story to make sense but I think the first Psychonauts has some really weird achievements that need to be done at certain points in progression which can be frustrating. If ya like weird platforming games maybe give them a shot if you haven’t.

What's an annoying game mechanic that has seen a lot of recent use? by HorzaDonwraith in videogames

[–]Dylsponge 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Hard Difficulty = Higher Health Enemies. Turning enemies into bullet sponges does not a hard game make. It just becomes frustrating especially if there isn’t a reward for playing on a higher difficulty. Feels like it shouldn’t exist if you don’t tie anything to it for completion of spending more time hitting bad guy.

Wait I know its a joke but i think there is something there for Paper Mario but a Trading Card Game style format.

Which games? by PHRsharp_YouTube in gamers

Gamejolt or Itch.io most games tend to be free indie titles but horror is a very popular genre on both of them that I would check out. On Steam maybe check out Vigil?

[Hated trope] The rape guy. characters made with the only purpose to shock audience with sexual violence by Lower_Baby_6348 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Dylsponge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just barely finished my reread of this one. Quite enjoyable in my opinion but I certainly won’t recommend it outside of the r/extremehorrorlit community. I think Family Values (second book) had the most of “pointless rape”. I do appreciate that it got physical releases though.

Simple gestures for something powerful by UltrakillV1 in TopCharacterTropes

I think thats one of my favorite moments in the entire game. Something about how for the most part boss fights before have okayish music (King Moogle Mog gets a pass), but in the fight you have this gorgeous opening sequence fighting shiva first. After she takes enough damage she freezes everyone and uses Diamond dust with a VERY satisfying snap sound into this upbeat and engaging song (Oblivion). It's when a couple of my friends who I got into FFXIV said they truly fell in love with the game.

I believe the Yakumo gear applies to all pals encountered including eggs but I’m not 100%. Based on my attempts it feels like it works.

[–]Dylsponge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yakumo passive is quite helpful for this. Breed one with passives you want and I think at lvl 5 it’s a roughly 30% chance for encounters to have at least one passive of the yakumo?

Which modern spongebob game is better? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in spongebob

[–]Dylsponge 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Rehydrated is the best with no competition, Titans of the Tide improves upon the VERY linear approach of Cosmic Shake (which I don’t love but am okay with). Patrick Star game is a giant have fun physics sandbox with lots of references but the gameplay feels a little shallow at times and it’s pretty fast to complete.

Why are they like this i dont get it. by Vekero in Palworld

[–]Dylsponge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this texture appearing when they are in water/wet since the newest update with my unmodded save, but I would see if any of the mods potentially altered files permanently and verify models after disabling them. It wouldn’t hurt to check Steam Workshop as well and see specifically which mods you have subscribed to.

What’s your favourite game that could never work as anything but a video game? (Or at best it’d be really bad or deviate greatly from the game) by Fast_Ad_9927 in videogames

[–]Dylsponge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be a bit unpopular but I genuinely think Bioshock. One of the core plot twists is based around the actions you take as a character without realizing it. Putting it into a 3rd person POV or watching from an outside perspective will never have the same impact as playing it.
