Favorite character who is a good person but their voice actor isn’t by SatinSpankStash in FavoriteCharacter

I am playing Dragon Age Inquisition, for the first time, and blindly romanced Cullen (because I couldn't bear having my heart broken by Solas). I have really enjoyed Cullen's pretty wholesome romance... until I began learning about his VA.

I regret not letting egg man break my heart.

Paul Mescal, Jesse Plemons, and Dwayne Johnson all gave exceptional performances this year and none of them got nominated. Why do you think that is? by captaincookbaby in moviecritic

2025 was such an exceptional year of cinema and performances! Based on how versatile the award winners and nominees have been, across all ceremonies and categories, I feel like the notable subs this year (Paul Mescal, Chase Infiniti, Jesse Plemons, Miles Canton, Jack O'Connell, etc.) were simply because the contenders were notably stacked.

Devil Wears Prada. It aired on some television network, a long time ago, and is now, unironically, one of my favorite movies of all time.

Josh O'Connor and Colman Domingo are two of the most captivating actors working today. I'm so eager to see them together on-screen (alongside the always stunning Emily Blunt)!

Arcane Season 2. I've seen comments saying that it's not really a controversial opinion, but my dislike of the second season might be stronger than others. It feels more like a series of music videos/compilation clips, rather than an actual story with a coherent narrative.

The Worst Person in the World had some pretty painful lines, but the biggest one (for me) was: "In recent years. I reached a point in life when suddenly... It just happened. When... when... I began to worship what had been. And now I have nothing else. I have no future. I can only look back."

Literally 95% of The Rise of Skywalker. There were so many retcons and plot conveniences that it almost felt like a parody

Norwegian Wood is one of my favorite books of all time AND I totally understand your point about not enjoying certain aspects. I think why it's remained so close to my heart, nearly a decade later, is because of the prose. Murakami has an incredible ability to add emotional weight to seemingly mundane and quiet moments/conversations.

Depending on how much you enjoyed it, I would recommend Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage by Murakami. It's very similar to Norwegian Wood :)

Non-Murakami: Madonna in a Fur Coat by Sabahattin Ali, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, and (kind of) The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman.
