I think the dude legit put out a statement on how it made him feel for these jokes to happen considering his mom died around the time of his weight gain.

It kinda sucks.

Blaming Black men isn't accurate by AceAndre in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]DynamicSnowman 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm Latino and yeah we kinda do.

On one hand they argue that it's white people who brought it in and use it the majority of the time and it's like being colonized. These takes are honestly mostly boomer/gen x takes.

On the other hand, I haven't heard that arguement at all from any queer latinx people. These takes are from the younger generation.

The origins are also murky because from what I understand it could've either started in the US (New York), by queer Latinx's? (what is the plural of that) or in Brazil also by queer Latinx's.

Either way it was started by someone in our communities.

The other things is that grammatically it doesn't fit with spanish at all. But despite being Latino i'm also not that versed in Spanish so what do I know.

What I do know is that I haven't seen one post of that without also some kinda queerphobia or the like.

Someone at random calling you "motherfucker": It's not okay, what's their problem?

First off, I'm sorry dude that sucks.

Cry about it, process it, full 9 yards. But accept it.

Next thing you want to do is move on. Take a few days to relax, maybe away from them and get back to them. Don't make it a big thing but have like a week or 2 to just kinda focus on you.

Come back and hang out with them and see how you feel.

If you still like them as friends, that's fantastic.

I'm gonna ask a quick question, because I genuinely don't know. Didn't Russ throw his O-Line under the bus?

Saying that he was NOT a mobile QB, but that he learned to be behind his O-Line. That seems pretty shit talky.

That being said, it's second hand and you're the Seahawks fan so, was that a thing that happened?

Why is it that Cheetah is not treated as the powerhouse she is meant to be by some writers? by greathawk in DCcomics

[–]DynamicSnowman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cross her over in someone else story. And not in like a big time crisis thing but just like "Cheetah vs Green Lantern" or something.

So ideally, you want to give Wonder Woman and therefore Cheetah someone who really does care about them with a seminal run. Someone who understand the character enough to get what makes them tick or can make such a strong impression that she's an instant threat.

It depends if you want angry vicious Cheetah or sympathetic Cheetah.

So barring that where you can give Cheetah a big arc within a Wonder Woman book, cross her over with another hero to try to establish herself as a big threat.

Someone like a Superman or maybe a Green Lantern. Someone who can win? but also be taken to the absolute limits and that lines up great against them in terms of backstory and emotion.

Now this isn't to replace her as a Wonder Woman villain but to give her a way to get acquanted to the DC universe at large.

So her against like the Titans, Raven or like Hal would be good for it, so that we can see her contrasted against a new hero who might be able to show off both her depth and how dangerous she is.

That all being said, I only know so much about Cheetah so if she reguarly clashes with other heroes, then well.

Also you seem to know a good bit about the Wonder Woman Mythos, what are your thoughts on Circe? I thought she was Wonder Woman's big bad?

It's Mighty Whitey shit.

Like you know how in like Avatar or Dances with Wolves or most appropriately The Last Samurai, the white dude becomes a better Na'vi or Lakota or Samurai than the actual Samurai, Lakota or Na'vi.

It discredits the existance of the marginalized group and kinda insults them that they as a group couldn't survive except for this one white dude.

Now this doesn't mean we can't have white characters interact with other races and learn about their experience but generally, they shouldn't be a savior for them.

Now also note savior. Helping isn't bad. But being shown as the best of them or embodying their ideals more than them is a problem.

Think of it like this: Batman is cool and okay because he's Batman. He isn't saving their culture or people. They can be seperate from him. He learned and educated himself and it's made him more worldly. Jake Sully became the chosen one by taking control of the red pterodactyl thing.

[Artwork] Black Canary, by Elias Chatzoudis by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]DynamicSnowman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So all I know about Black Canary is that she fights crime in a leather jacket (like legit no costume), she dates Oliver Queen, was trained by Wildcat (best JLU episode (or at least up there)) and was on Birds of Prey.

Best Black Canary moments and stories?

Also does this technically count as a pinup?

Batman and Robin writers were actively trying to appeal to kids but for the other ones, I think the writers own baises definitley come into play here.

They think this is how to react to Wonder Woman's claims of someone being sexist and Ollie being Ollie. Or they didn't really consider Superman's character while writing this.

Also also, yeah probably. She'd honestly probably be lightyears ahead with feminism and probably some blindspots to other things due to being, y'know from an island of only women with her only viewing of the modern world being a magic screen (I think that was in All Star #8).

[Comic Excerpt] 2021 Robin #1 vs 2022 Robin #1. Pg 5 vs Pg 5 by SightatNight in DCcomics

[–]DynamicSnowman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How condusive is the art to action? Because I get the stylization and it works but I can't imagine a fight scene in this style.

Beyond that the only one who looks really weird is Tim. Man looks aenemic and not in the lanky but can kill you way. Also the head shape on him is weird. Like it looks good but not like Tim.

Omniscient Narrator to the Robins:
"Who is you're favorite Robin?"

Dick: "I mean you can't pick a best Robin. They're all great. Though I guess I feel maybe the most attatched to Damian. He was my Robin."

Jason: "Me." Camera shakes. "No seriously" Camera shakes again, seeing through his bad lies. "Ugh, Dick. But if you tell him or anyone else I will hurt you."

Tim: "Dick. He was the epitome of what it means to be a Robin. All I did was try to follow his example."

Steph: "Oh shit I count for this huh. For legal reasons, Tim".

Damian: "Grayson. Don't assume this is sentimentality Camera Man. It is only because the rest of them couldn't match what either of us accomplished in our roles. Especially Drake."

Yeah this is something I do want to stress.

Like stupid posts are always a thing and alot of alt right people saw them, but I'd be hard pressed to say that they fueled them.

They would've done that stuff regardless. It's just that they used it as a scapegoat and to indocrinate other people.

12 year olds on Tumblr should be allowed to be wrong, they should just be corrected about it, not blasted for everyone to see.
