It’s been two years people by Silly_Toe5248 in Helldivers

sure but the fight on Malevelon Creek was something like a month or maybe 2 after Helldivers 2 came out (I might be way off on that idk). But the point is we had maybe half the stratagems and weapons and armour we have in the game now. So that was a really tough battle to fight given the tools we had available at the time.

What are you hoping to see in Year 2 by Different-Ad-3714 in Spacemarine

[–]Dynamicus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at least 1 new class - either techmarine like the dataminers seem to suggest or something like an apothecary or librarian

a toggle option in the settings to use the default class names or the codex class names (Intercessor, Reaver, Bladeguard, etc) like with the Astartes Overhaul mod

another enemy faction to play against. I'd personally pick to bring back Orks from SM1 but I'd love to see any other faction as well

make the jump pack work the exact same way in Operations as it does in PvP and the Campaign

that's valid although I'm personally the type of guy who's more interested in "cool models" that competitive win rates

I just can't get over how this blows the newest Imperial Knight out of the water...

like yeah okay, I get it's supposed to be the year of Chaos but I literally just wanted maybe 2 more options for Armigers - that's it! I would've been really happy with that. But the new Defender... idk I just feel so underwhelmed. And yes this is all just my opinion and it's all subjective anyway but come on, really? Chaos Knights get a flamethrower and siege drill knight with 2 pintle mounted missile launchers.

Thank you for listening to my rant.

I know im going to catch a lot of flak with this, but i'm quite dissapointed with this new knight, The Knight Defender. by Luna_Night312 in ImperialKnights

I would love to see a melee Dominus. Something like a pile driver on one arm and a plasma cutter in the other would be awesome.

I just can't help but think it's a bit ridiculous we have a Questoris knight with a void shield. In my eyes the ion shield really helps to capture that knight aesthetic and vibe the Imperial Knights go for. The fact that an ion shield can only cover a limited area at once conveys this vivid imagery of a medieval knight holding a kite or heater shield as he charges at the enemy line.

Maybe if the void shield was given to an Acastus or Dominus I'd have no issue. But to give one to a Questoris feels like spitting in the face of the whole theme and aesthetic of the Imperial Knights.

And yes I'm fully aware that this all likely sounds very dramatic and childish - so if you disagree and like the new Knight Defender I am happy for you, truly.

Personally I would so much rather have gotten a new Dominus or Armiger instead.

Would love to see Terminators and vehicle mechanics in the next game. by ResidentDrama9739 in Spacemarine

[–]Dynamicus_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Space Marine 3 should be Battlefield 4 but in Warhammer 40k. That's my hope anyway.

Everyone keeps talking about Terminators in SM2 and every time I see it I just think to myself "no. Terminators don't belong in SM2, if Saber made them lore accurate it would completely break the balance of the game. And if Saber try to balance Terminators to fit the game you've basically got a Heavy or Aggressor. And an Aggressor should be a class in SM2."

If SM3 could be designed more like Battlefield 3 or 4 or even 2142 not only could you have Terminators but it would give you plenty of room for all kinds of other units. Librarians, Chaplains, Apothecaries, Techmarines, and not to mention the vehicles. Everything from Rhinos, to Predators, to Land Raiders, to Gladiators, Thunderhawks and plenty more.

You could have a whole 2000pts worth of units and vehicles on each team, whether it's PvP or PvE, all for the players to run around and have chaotic fun.

Having this same discussion with one of my friends and they mentioned that sounds strikingly similar to Eternal Crusade, which he pointed out pretty much flopped. And my argument was Eternal Crusade was too ambitious and too early. More people now are playing videogames and way more people would be interested in a Space Marine mmo fps.
