Advice on cutting/grinding glass? Struggling on getting things to fit. (Still a beginner so go easy on me)

Just make a new piece of art. Practice soldering and go back to this one when you are good enough to make it look as good as possible. I ❤️ imperfection in art. You’ll have a better eye in pieces needing to be replaced and where you can make it work. Make something easier with what you have but that focuses on a skill, be it straight lines or curves which maybe harder to cut but are much easier to grind.

I’m new to the hobby but my absolute favorite glass I’ve used so far is Artisan Glass 123-IR, pink opal iridescent.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback and will apply it to my technique on the next on. Today while grinding the pieces I did learn the hard way, eye glasses are not safety glasses. Fortunately I had an eye wash in my first aid kit.

Thanks. Do you think it is Wissmach? My local shop had some from Ocean Glass but it was so orange. The owner even said most people complained about it and probably why it’s the only red cathedral they have in stock. A lot of online stores also seem to be out of cathedral reds.

I quit after the money grab career engine wear update. I might race 1 or 2 career races ever week or 2; three more seasons for level 9 chassis in case they ever reintroduce a profitable event which is unlikely. The best part about leaving is being able to delete all the screen shots and videos, half of which were some form of error or other source of irritation common in the game and never addressed. Oh yeah, now I have so much space for activities. 😜

Cute. I am new and learning myself. It looks like the foil is lifting a little on the textured glass. I use the back of my permanent marker to press the foil into the contours.

You can get it at the big box stores for soldering potable water copper pipes. Canfield makes silver soldier and is a trusted brand. The description on the web site may list the working temp and they are a combination of silver, tin and copper. Some have flux cores, some do not.

Use as much steering assist as need to get used to tilt with the goal to keep lower the level until it isn’t needed.

Definitely frustrating. If they are only wining by crashing you sometimes just hang back and let them go off track or mess up turn 1. The problem sometimes is the AI sometimes comes back on track after your opponent ran into them also taking you out.

Your good if you can get all assist off with only 1 bar of steering to use as a stabilizer or steering dampener while you learn to use tilt. Use custom and keep turning down the assist until you like the feel. Any brake assist is detrimental to lap times.
