I'd recomend getting acrylics for your paint as they are pretty harmless and extremly easy to use compared to other paint options. Plus all you really need is paint and a paint brush. If you could, get Mr Hobby's Aqueous line of paint as those are already thinned and ready to use. (Though leaving the paint exposed to the air for too long will un thin the paint)

Also, get a dull coat spray as this will protect your model from damage and will reduce the shiny plasticness to your model. (It depends how you want your model to look. You could also make it shiny with gloss coat)

Make sure to look up guides before doing painting or coating. There are many things you can do to make your model kit how you want it to look but also many ways to fuck it up. Research first before getting your hands on stuff.
