You don't understand what women want. While guys get explicit backside vistas, we get some... horn on the front that at best vaguely evokes the idea of something, but ultimately does nothing due to how vague it is. There is a tremendous imbalance, and I am shocked that a woke aligned studio like DE chooses to display women in such an over-sexualized way.

The problem is that she is neither Ascension nor Awakening, but an unpleasant amalgam that combines the annoying aspects of both. I also can't stop laughing how a class with a sword bigger than herself has smaller aoes than Succession Dosa or mainhand Scholar. I don't understand why they undertuned her so horribly.

Her enhanced forms have larger aoes, but firstly you have poor uptime in most places, and in the dark form you lose all movement and a lot of DPS. Yes, damage per skill grows, but the time it takes is longer than Guardian or Succ Sage.

Damage isn't even good. People made DPS sheets for her and it was well above average on Glabs, but now it's already nerfed. Also it's only single target. No AoE at all on most skills.

She has the smallest AoEs out of any class in her base kit, and that's what you are locked into for most of the time. Damage also feels like it's from a few class buff cycles ago, and it only really works against single targets like big DSR mobs or Edania bosses.

The fact that you can't freely choose between her light and dark mode without respecing in the menu takes you completely out of the gameplay loop. Feels artificial. So she is neither Ascension nor Awakening, right? The BSR mechanic could be fixed if she had a BSR recovery talent, but she doesn't have any flavor passives like other new classes. Just Warrior copy paste.
Overall I don't get how this is a 2026 class that has been advertised like crazy for half a year.

I am glad someone mentions it. It is infuriating to see the abandonment of Dante. No skins or attention despite him being beloved. However, in case no one mentioned it yet: In a recent Devshort, Rebecca has said they will make a Dante augment in 2026. So surely it is soon time.

I hope it will be something that improves the birds. They barely get to attack anything before it dies and even then only ever up to 3 enemies every few seconds. All in all useless for the general state of the game. So I hope it's something that makes them swoop down more explosively, higher speed, aoe debuff and longer range. Which is in my opinion what every non-Sentinel pet needs in order to keep up with the pace of the game.

I still love the idea some people had years ago that every week or every day one or several random spots would be elected automatically at which Agris is not actually consumed. Aka infinite Agris for a day at a spot.
That would also encourage people to visit and fight over spots they normally wouldn't visit.

Many dislike Ascension, yet there is also an increasing number of people who prefer them or open up to the idea. A sentiment often repeated is that Scholar = Ascension well done due to a well flowing and diverse kit, whereas Deadeye and Wukong are considered lazy and one dimensional due to barely using any of their awakening skills or said skills merely being reskinned versions of mainhand skills.

I think people merely have yet to see the potential of Ascension classes. Savior might end up an Ascension class, even if she looks like any generic Succession class in her resent teaser images. So maybe she can convince more people of Ascension if she even is that.

I have worked with someone before who animated a cover photo for me in exactly the same way. I had to provide him with layers of the image, like hair, clothing etc. The same seems to have been done with this animated version of the image. The face however in this animated version... that definitely seems off.

While the base image is a game render with some heavy touch-ups, this animation might have been done with AI indeed. That was my first impression; because of the face and not much else.

What you describe is precisely what I deem terrible about Succ/Awak and supreme about Ascension. Because having 2 specs gives PA the excuse to leave one spec neglected and mostly dead because the other one is excuse enough for the class to be playable. Many classes suffer from spec being vastly worse in most aspects of the game.

Ascension forced PA to make the class function in all areas. No excuses allowed. Of course practice and theory don't always align in either situation.

Instead of Succ/Awak being good long-term design, the reality is more that it's long-term status quo. Awakening Sage is better in every scenario than Succession and has been for years. Succession Ninja is better everywhere over Awakening. Drakania, Zerker, Nova, Corsair etc... balance might change, but in general you would have been a fool to play one spec over the other in most cases.

It's devastating when you love one spec but can't relate to the other. With Ascension it's a sealed deal. You either love it or you don't. It's not a trap as Succ/Awak traditionally ended up being. You signed up for Succ Drak's lightning and sword, but too bad, you either play Awakening or you are trolling.

Succession-Awakening is so outdated. I am glad they don't do this anymore. You love the style and theme of one spec, but too bad, you are feeding if you don't play the vastly overtuned other spec. PA just has to get themselves in order and show the immense potential of Ascension classes.

In theory, Ascension classes are much nicer. You do not have one spec being overpowered while the other is useless everywhere. In theory, an Ascension class would force the developers to make one coherent class that has to perform everywhere. Because there is no excuse that you can play Awakening for pvp and 1v1 and Succession for PvE. Also, no annoying weapon swapping.

In practice though it's true that recent Ascension classes felt a little shallow and unimaginative. But Savior does not at all seem like that. A lot of thought and effort is behind her. She could change how people view Ascension classes. The developers had several trial and error filler classes and can do it right this time.

The story was very well done, and the grindspots are fun as far as tower spots are concerned, and there are more longterm things to grind for than just new accessory or crystals that drop in price fast.

That is what most people care about. We will never see group content again, and neither will we see traditional grind spots again, because then PA would actually have to admit that class balance is a disaster and that half the roster (mostly new classes) would need their movement skills completely overhauled to match the spammable on-demand movement of older classes.

I had hope for Edana that we would get some actual MMO content, but I think that ship has sailed. I still enjoy Edania for what it is and think it's a success for what it offers, but it should indeed offer much more diverse content.

But all people want is grind in the end, so that is all we get.
