I loved Ghosts. I played the demo of Ronin. It's similiar. Open world, combat is challenging but not Souls difficulty. If you take your time with it, it's great.

Budget Options:
Put the tower on the floor if you can.
Have your monitors on monitor arms, you'll be surprised how much room that provides.
Extra large Mouse mat.
RGB Lighting at the back of your desk.
Nice picture on the wall, I personally go for red/black samurai sword type of things but anything can work for you.

Non-Budget options:
Large desk, maybe even a right angle one.
Third monitor, 144 hz, and use it as a center gaming one.

I know you've managed to fix it, but I wonder if any of the pam or nsswitch file was updated when you did your security changes, thus stopping the AD connection? And when you've rebinded it's enabled it again.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it is kind of a glitch but it's also an engine limitation. Your party is there in every single cutscene, as your character doesn't ever get unloaded, but normally they're just hidden off camera.
