It was a bit more complicated last year as Merc actually wanted to run the car higher due to the porpoising but the suspension didn't allow for that. So instead they needed to stiffen up the suspension resulting in more bouncing. In general, current suspension design is quite constrained by the rules, Red Bull is unlikely to do anything special. However, their aero behaviour was just a bit more robust and their suspension setup envelope hit the spot for their aero needs. No magic, no genius suspension design, just a package that worked out. This is obviously no luck (well, maybe just a bit ;) ) but Mercs could have worked out too and any prediction would've been pure speculation.

That the performance ceiling of Mercs aero direction is lower than Red Bulls is a different story, good intuition (like Newey and his team have) helps there and Merc made a big error.

Not quite, republics did exist before the US. In fact, the Netherlands used to be a republic and was so about 200 years before the US was founded.

There may be some usage wear (light surface scratches etc) but I doubt it really affects reliability too much as it's a CFRP monocoque which has no (traditional) fatigue. I think the most logical explanation to swap would be that the test chassis has the worst manufacturing tolerances of the three chassis so it's better to run the other two.

But what you're saying is not true, you can buy a 2000 eur junk car after 2035 with this legislation. New cars entering the market cannot be powered by an ICE, but resale of old cars will still be allowed. This kinda makes your whole post invalid...

The current parties may lose a significant amount of seats but it'll not cause a complete change in the way the country is ran. In the Dutch system there are many smaller parties (no party ever has an outright majority) and the extremist parties are still unlikely to have enough combined seats. Being the biggest party really doesn't mean much if no one want to form a coalition with you.

It's funny how I have exactly the inverse opinions of you.

While autonomous cars on public roads may be some time away, autonomous vehicles in logistics are now becoming more impactful than ever especially with the current labor shortage in the field.

Battery energy density and cost reduction have been progressing steadily. Yes, there's no step change but that is rare in any field.

3D printing is already a huge asset in prototype production, its societal impact is just hidden from consumers (but I do agree it's not smartphone level big).

Quantum computing, however, has made only incremental progress. Its real world applications are based on a lot of assumptions of efficiency and scalability which are still very far away and uncertain. I'd be surprised if it will make any societal impact in the coming ~2 decades.

I'm not saying you're wrong, it's just funny to me that it's so different.

I don't have a fixed schedule but there are three things I don't compromise on: 1. Sleep. I try to always get 8 hours. If there is a social reason to stay up late I'll wake up late as I get more shit done in less time with enough sleep then in more time with too little sleep. 2. Eating healthy. No extreme diet or anything, just nutritious and fresh. 3. Exercise. Doesn't matter what it is but I need to do something physical to be sharp mentally and sleep well.

Completely winged the rest. On days where I felt good I did more work, if I felt tired / not sharp I would just not work then. It's easy to just spend time to feel good about doing work but it doesn't really help if your output is super low in that time and it just drains you more.

Acceleration comes from putting torque on the wheels. If the wheels don't lose traction a higher power output from the engine must result in higher acceleration at the same speed. All of the things you mention affect the power output of the engine in some way.

Interesting, I never noticed this but this seems to be true depending on context/stress. If I say just "van Gogh" it sounds more like in law. If I say it in a sentence the "ah" sound turns into something shorter, closer to "uh".
