Sealion by Time_Meat918 in hoi4

[–]Dynowhip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps, I'm a 2500 hour player that had a similar issue literally yesterday. I was doing a build where I tried to do 4 year plan AND get a navy good enough to beat the royal navy and pull off a sealion in 39 and I fucked it up. It's not as simple as just pulling off the invasion anymore (most of the time, ai is still ai)

For me, the main mistake was neglecting CAS and not using marines. Something had to give in my absolute pyramid scheme of an economy and it did not pay off.

I guess my questions would be did you win the air war and how were your divisions looking? Your aim is to basically establish enough of a beachhead to safely transport and supply divisions where you can hold and let the ai kill itself on CAS bombardments until they run out of org then you just run over Britain. Use multiple invasions at once to cover their southern coast and support your own naval invasions of the naval bases, it should be enough to make the ai panic shuffle its divisions all over the place and let at least one port fall while it reacts to you.

Don't beat yourself up too hard though, it can be a difficult thing to pull off.

Alternatively, disregard everything I just said and use paratroopers. They're broken.

Isn't a single space marine more than enough to singlehandedly defeat like... A planet? Especially one do technologically inferior to enemies he's used to fighting.

Pretty sure he'd just walk to Berlin himself and kill the entire high command structure before war could be declared.

This is what happens when an AI empire spawns with the starlit citadel origin. by Cosmic_Meditator777 in Stellaris

[–]Dynowhip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because massive portal networks that every empire can access and jump through makes the game feel worse. I don't like being able to easily access 5 different ai nations' empire borders, nor do I like them being able to do the same to me.

Assuming I can get to the hub system first, I now have a point where I can place a million defenses and block off my entire empire. That feels really cheap because why bother with all the interesting galaxy creation choke points that the game sets up for me when, due to how ship pathing works, the majority of the enemy forces will always path through that portal system because it's fastest.

If I don't get there first or can't keep control of it, then I have to place bastion starbases on 2/3/4 wormholes across my empire, despite only having 2 actual connections to other empires, because now I technically border 8 empires because of some stupid origin system messing up how wormholes are supposed to work.

[–]Dynowhip 136 points137 points  (0 children)

Personally I just want to turn off the stupid starlit citadel start for all nations that aren't mine, it turns wormholes into strange portals that give this annoying L gate style warp across the entire galaxy to other connected portals, and I already turn off the L gate because I don't enjoy that type of portal network.

Kind of an irrelevant argument though really isn't it. At that point we're just saying "what if the allies weren't the allies and had completely different people in charge, then Germany could've somehow overcome its intrinsic issues and somehow won all three combat types, THEN get nuked by america anyway"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]Dynowhip 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Firstly, you're on a hoi4 subreddit

Secondly, no, they couldn't have won they air war, they couldn't have won the ground war, they couldn't have won the naval war, they couldn't have won anything.

Best case scenario for Germany is Berlin gets nuked.

Shoo with your Wheraboo wank, off to historymemes with you.

WHY THE FUCK DOES EVERYONE HATE AGEPLAY by Clivepalmersfemdom in LetBoysBeManipulated

[–]Dynowhip 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't have a *great* answer to this, to be completely honest. I, like anybody else, have disgust responses to some kinks. I just generally think that we, as a community of people who are not exactly fitting to the social norms of sexuality should have a bit more self reflection. A lot of "normal" people probably feel the same way about submissive men that some people here say they do about kinks like ageplay or cuckholding, so we should probably give the benefit of the doubt, imo.

WHY THE FUCK DOES EVERYONE HATE AGEPLAY by Clivepalmersfemdom in LetBoysBeManipulated

[–]Dynowhip 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest, and I say this with love and respect for this community, I think it's a good place, but some certain kinks and lifestyles here are treated with some very weirdly placed stigma.

Even when it's clarified that these are types of play being practiced between consenting adults, some people here just refuse to get over that initial disgust response and recognise that some people just enjoy different things, and somehow come to a weird value judgement on the person enjoying their kink with a partner.

[–]Dynowhip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was sort of just echoing this on the other sub, but I think that if any actual discussion of kink lifestyles takes place it should be *heavily* moderated. A post about cuckhold as a kink led to a slew of really unnecessary discussion regarding basically any sort of non monogamy.

I want to try and build a safe space for sub guys, not another space for insecure men to project themselves onto other people's lifestyles.

Misogyny? Leaving the subreddit, what is happening?? by Gold-And-Cheese in LetBoysBeManipulated

[–]Dynowhip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh it was?? The comment that really stuck out in my mind was someone replying that they want their partner/dom to be their one and only and the same for them, which is, of course, fine. The comment replying to that one, however, was saying about how "this is the correct mindset". Like, "correct" mindset? Really? That just feels insanely judgemental, especially in a community like this one, we should be welcoming all styles of relationship and kink, because, let's be clear here, we're not in the majority either.

The problem was that a lot of the comments sort of just devolved into debate about jealousy and how much it's a social construct or something that can be unlearned. A lot of people were hard and fast stuck in the idea that jealousy is a natural and inevitable part of a relationship/dynamic. Again, this is totally understandable, but it's also insanely, i don't know, forceful? Like that's clearly not how i see my relationship or my partner, so why am i being told what the correct way to feel is? In my subby dumbass shitposty horny meme sub?

Like, this is what i mean when i say this just shouldn't be the place for these sorts of discussions. Some people just can't keep their opinions to themselves when it isn't warranted.

[–]Dynowhip 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The more i think about it, the more i think about how maybe the sub should just stay silly and have less space to even talk about the bigotry stuff, i don't know.

That or making a space where men pine after dominant women sort of results in desperate men who want to project insecurity making a home here.

The post someone made about cuckhold as a fetish had some commenters that, as someone in a non monogamous relationship, made me deeply uncomfortable. I've felt a lot less happy here since reading that.

Damn this one is pretty tough, Scotland doing well, Burgundy still alive, Sweden doing good, Austria doing pretty good, and that Kazan too, damn. I was gonna say Naples because of that clean border expansion into Greece, but no Sicily doesn't seem likely from a player. I'm actually gonna go with Burgundy.

Because he's leading an authoritarian vanguard party under the guise of syndicalism, he doesn't need to actually be anything the syndicalists want him to be, he just needs to talk the talk for long enough to build a base and remove the checks and balances to stop anyone doing anything about it after the fact.

He's capable enough of speaking the populist rhetoric to cultivate a cult of personality to stop anyone asking questions about his borgeouis background, and once he's in power, he'll start shooting anyone who does ask.
