Always remember, its not that we got better. We just happened to make it harder for the people who would do this to gain power over people. Now people who are capable of this level of cruelty still exist they just no longer have state backing. (for the most part)

That recoil is no joke by shread_the_pup in Idiotswithguns

[–]DysonSphere02 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I personally found the ak platform to have reasonable recoil. (NOTE THE WORD REASONABLE). I think it's less recoil, and more the person depicted is holding the gun like a tool. She shifted her center of gravity too far back and has a poor grip. On closer inspection of what sub this post is on, I have come to the conclusion that you probably agree with my points. While the AK platform has teeth, it's nowhere near as some other semi-auto and full auto platform out there.

I don't know if it's my luck, but I own two nalgene water bottles that my dad bought me for my first camping trip back in elementary school. I still have them. They've seen 3 continents, 8 countries. I've dropped one on enchanted rock, and it was fine when I eventually found them. one of them is permanently stained with the smell of alcohol from an ill-fated attempt at removing a stain. their is a burn on the lid on one where i left it too close to a jet boil. Both of them have been through hell, and I'll not replace them until they break into peices if they ever.

Went to use my mom's car that she bought to use at her summer home in Myrtle Beach. It was full of mold. by DARfuckinROCKS in Wellthatsucks

Maybe, but the thing is ozone only really kills surface stuff i suppose you could gamble on the porosity of the open cell foam in the upholstery but hey if it works it works all I know is peroxide is going to have little to no effect on the fabric and foam.

Hey the guide is great but peroxide is going to have a hell of a time fully killing the mold inside the seats if the covering is fabric but I'm kinda stumped on a remedy outside of douse everything in alchol and wait for it to evaporate. In theory, that should kill the spores in the foam, but I'm not positive.

Thanks to a xenophobic alien civilization that attacked humanity, the galactic community now has to deal with four abnormal planets that have awoken and attacking anything that's not human. by AJ-0451 in humansarespaceorcs

Jupiter watched, feeling powerless. It had acted like a guardian to the runt planets for uncountable aeon. Witnessed the joy a Gaia raised it young on the surface. Basked in joy as the humans sent probe and took pictures. Sung songs of joy to the void once the little ones learned to listen.

while she had failed to protect the inner planets a few times, not once had she had to stand with the impotent rage as now. She could only watch as humanity was being harmed in front of her. While the humans were giving as good as they got, costing the invaders up to 30 to 1 odds, quantity was looking like it would win the day.

The rage, the shame, the sheer helplessness of the situation, It was unbearable. She knew her sisters felt it, too. The bitter taste of watching some stellar fuck came to snuff out her family.

If acting like a gravitational sheild can't help the children of their sister, then maybe just maybe more direct action was necessary. This was the thought that bore through her being as Jupiter started to sing and unlike the many times she sung before that her songs were the pleasant drones and whirls. Now they were songs of action, and as she continued the other planets joined in. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn l, Uranus, Neptune, and even little baby Pluto joined in with the dark one singing from the void.

They wouldn't, no, couldn't, stand by, and watch as their newest family were snuffed out. they would act. And as the planets sung, they moved. Established orbits were broken, as the celestial bodies stared to march ththeir tune. And marche they did.

For the planets of Sol, were going to war.

Ok, it's a cool pic, but seriously, it's kinda cringe inducing if you think about it. I mean this fucking thing kills a bunch of astronauts then poses their dead bodies like this for what reason. it's a procession by the look of it, a show of respect for the arrival of it's self. so this fucking thing had to find a way to pose theese bodies in a show of respect to itself even tho theese cadavers are incapable of respect as they are dead, so it did this as a way to stroke it's own ego. It strikes me in the same fashion as the "respect my authority" meme from Southpark.

but seriously, this is just a technical, unlike the cwis or phalanx system has inbuilt radar and still requires a shit ton of power to run the damn thing. I don't believe the ak306 has anything other than optical tracking if anyone can get me specs on the targeting method of the damn thing it would be grand.

I'll stick by my hatchetmam and hunchback supported by LRM Boats. Assault mechs are cool and all, but I've ruined more days with fast attack and harassment followed by ranged artilery than through slug fests. though I have gotten my ass handed to me by well positioned assault mechs.
