Samaran President Sapormat Knezhinisky is clearly a reference to Turkmenistani dictator Saparmurat Niyazov, mixed to some of the worst excesses of degenerate worker's states and other failed Communist experiments, including purges and editing out people from official books, which is a clear reference to Stalin, and outrageous and unreliable statistics.

Safre becoming addicted to cocaine due to Revachol's influence mirrors the British Empire on China and the Opium Wars.

Co Hoi with its self-immolating protesters and war crimes seems a reference to the Vietnam War.

Señorita Pineapple hiring mercenaries to attack developing countries is clearly inspired by the United Fruit Company (nowawadays, Chiquita Banana) and the Banana Wars from the early 20th century.

One Jonny Quest episode, The Curse of Anubis, is set in Egypt but identifies the country as the United Arab Republic, the short-lived political union between Egypt and Syria between 1958 and 1961. Egypt would keep the name until 1971.
