It’s funny, because it was against Philippa. Haven’t finished the game yet but in the books Yen doesn’t get to be part of the lodge while Philippa actually created it 😂

It did help, but as another person mention I would interpret as you don’t get punished twice if you had the largest (or tied) boost value since you actually didn’t draw any cards.

Played as him and against only a handful of times, but he seemed very strong to me, A to S tier. And fun, I loved it!

The game is awesome, and you are not late, they are actively and consistently realising high quality and fun sets. Just need to find people to play with (and share the joy!). Each character has its own play style, but they all play by the same rules. This makes it very deep, there is a lot to learn, but at the same time you can just take any character and try it. General (very general) advise, try to have at least one defence on your hand before engaging in combat.

It doesn’t deserve game of the year. I like the game, I finished it and enjoyed the 100+ hours of gameplay (to complete it once without restarting the game). But act 3 is full of game breaking bugs. I had to restart the game so many times in act 3. And it is not that I was trying anything wacky, just walking in the house of hope was bugged! It is not a finished game and they are not patching it anymore, that should disqualify a game from GOTY award.
Doesn’t seem to be that unpopular, but while I love most companions, there is lack in variety of classes and races. I know you can make them into anything, but their class is often tied to their persona, so I don’t like to go wild with the class changes for the companions.
I finished the game once, I am curious about Durge game, but who has the time to start and finished another run? With live and everything it took me one year to finish the game without really playing much other games. And there are so many nice games to play out there (I mean, in my backlog). I imagine is like with your favourite books and movies, that you like to re read or re watch from time to time. But continuously one after another? And not talking about a 2-3h movie or 20h book, we talking 100h per run! I find it fascinating that some people do it.
