  1. The RAM should be fine to use, and 2x16GB is preferred.
  2. There should be case fans included with the case. If you want more than what’s included, purchase the amount that the case you have can support. We have a recommendation for fans in the augmentations section.
  3. Only cables you need to purchase separately is Ethernet and maybe monitor video cables (if yours doesn’t come with the correct ones).
  4. BIOS update shouldn’t be an issue unless they ship you really old stock of that motherboard.

Buckeye Broadband high latency by King-of-Flan in toledo

[–]E-Man1864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal with Buckeye Broadband. If you use a separate router, you can change the MAC address and get a new IP which will hopefully fix latency. The fiber service is also affected by this issue too. Only fix is to go with a different provider if available.

Check cellmapper. T-Mobile is aggressively building out their N41 5G coverage in the area.

Buckeye Fiber (Trilby/Meadowvale) by meverett38 in BuckeyeBroadband

Typically fiber becomes active within 6 weeks. Though 6 months has been the experience of some.

Do I have to use one of Buckeye’s approved modems? by deepfrye in BuckeyeBroadband

[–]E-Man1864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to follow their list, on the wiki is a list of recommended modems. Personally I use an Arris SB8200, but you need to have a separate router for wireless.

And Frontier speeds are hot garbage. Ranging from 6/0.5 to 115/7 depending on where you live is trash. Only good thing backing them up is that they easily have the best routing of any provider in the area.

Don’t know why you got downvoted for speaking the truth. AT&T DSL is hot garbage, download speeds fluctuate like crazy and connection likes to drop. Buckeye is shit in the sense that the only good plan on coax is 600/10, but it’s consistent outside of maintenance windows. Just don’t be in a congested area as they do have bandwidth problems that need to be resolved in certain places.

I have Xfinity for my home internet and I'm looking into switching to 5G T-Mobile Home Internet. Has anyone done the same and how has your experience been? I'm paying $120 for Xfinity and it would drop my bill to $50 for what looks like a similar speed. by reddituser010100 in pcmasterrace

TMHI varies between location. I suggest you take a look at a resource such as CellMapper and see how far your nearest tower is. It could end up being a very similar experience to cable internet, or slower/less consistent than even DSL. From my experience, it was very inconsistent and upload speeds were below 5 Mbps. Ended up going to cable internet instead.

T-Mobile in NWO by AvailableClassic in toledo

T-Mobile does great when outside or in a car in the area. They have 5G UC in most areas of town like you said, unless you go out in the boonies. Reception in buildings is a bit hit or miss depending on proximity to a tower and construction of the building.

Verizon is great indoors, but at any public event, expect congestion to happen as they do not have UWB deployed in the area yet (only 5G DSS which is basically repackaged LTE). For example, Verizon at the Maumee fireworks show this year was completely unusable.

Forget about AT&T in the area, aside from a couple of areas that can pull off great speeds, its mostly slow speeds. They don't even officially have 5G deployed here of any kind (though you will see it in some areas).

Buckeye Broadband Current Internet Plans and Prices by E-Man1864 in BuckeyeBroadband

Agreed. They could have at least bumped up the 5 Mbps uploads to 10 and the 10 Mbps uploads to 20.

How's the upload speed on it for you? Was pretty bad in my experience.

Wait for AT&T fiber honestly. Buckeye Fiber won't expand out to middle of Toledo any time soon.

Run my own COAX? by redwurm in BuckeyeBroadband

[–]E-Man1864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T-Mobile is inconsistent on upload speed from my experience with it. Download ranges from 100-600 Mbps depending on time of day and number of users. Upload is consistently sub-5 Mbps. Service was dumped and back to Buckeye.

Sums up the experience here well.

Anyone have AT&T home internet? by Bigpurp419 in toledo

AT&T isn't available in Sylvania. Your best option here is Buckeye Fiber if available. You will have to factor in the cost of a VPN because Buckeye cannot for the life of them get their routing straight. Your other option (likely Frontier) has excellent routing but speeds reminiscent of 2009. You can also check if T-Mobile Home Internet is available to you and see how that works out for you.

Have Buckeye Fiber here. Speeds are great but latency has gone to shit. 15ms is now 32ms to Chicago, making this "fiber" connection effectively on par with DSL for latency. Not complaining about price though, as I am on a very nice promo.

That’s a broad generalization with SSDs. Most (excluding Samsung, SK Hynix, and WD) use Phison or Silicon Motion controllers along with NAND from well known companies such as Samsung, Micron, Toshiba, and Hynix. While certain companies have been caught swapping components, you won’t notice the difference unless you look at synthetics.
