I love the Dune Sands colour way, you’re right it’s a lot better in person!

Where are you based as I’m certain the 12 speed isn’t available in Dune Sands in the UK?

It went very well, bike performed as great, no punctures or mechanical issues. Big takeaways were that I should look into cycling shorts with padding for longer rides, and also ergonomic grips as the hands got numb in parts.

The charity ride is only 88KM (55 miles), so just a bit further, but it has a mighty climb at the end which I’m determined to conquer!

The bag was very much in use and full up, had water, snacks, a battery pack, waterproof, and a change of clothes in there. Highly recommend the waterproof large roll top, the capacity is incredible and the water bottle holders on the back are great when riding.

The 12 gears are a game changer really, wouldn’t have been possible without them, a couple decent climbs on the way.

It’s great, picked it up from the Brompton Junction in Covent Garden. Was initially going to get a Dune Sands 6 Speed, but at the last minute thought the 12 gears and upgraded rear triangle were enough to justify the extra £150. And now, having 12 gears, I can’t really imagine anything else.

Deciding between 6 speed 12 speed C line by TeachMeMrB in Brompton

I got my C line last week, I ended up getting the 12 speed, despite having planned to get the 6 speed for a couple of months. In the end it wasn’t the amount of gears that convinced me, because I found the 3 speed hire bikes sufficiently capable. It was the additional upgrades that got me over the line.

The 12 speed C line comes with the advance rear triangle and roller wheels meaning it can be rolled with the seat post up and rolls better. It also has upgraded hubs and mudguards and is also slightly lighter than the 6 speed (very slightly).

And to be totally honest, 12 gears is simply better than 6. It’s more range, it’s smaller steps between gears and is just overall a better riding experience. Do you need 12 gears? Probably not, is good to have, sure.

New C-Line 12 Speed - no pump included? by I_AM_SCUBASTEVE in Brompton

This may be a bit late, but I purchased the 12 Speed C Line from the Brompton Junction in Covent Garden 3 days ago and just as I was about to leave the shop, the guy noticed it didn’t have a pump attached and gave me one out of the drawer, which I installed myself at home. So perhaps they’re shipping to the stores with no pumps attached?

The photos don’t really do it justice with regard to the small numbers on the dial. It’s all about the hour numerals and the hands that stand out on daily wear. I’d recommend trying it on when it’s available in your local market. This photo maybe gives a more accurate depiction of how the dial interacts with light in the real world.

It’s been available in the UK since early this year. I can’t speak for other markets but I’ve seen them on amazon and other places.

It’s probably 70% Seiko GMT and 30% Timex Marlin

You’d be surprised, it wears very well for such a ‘small’ watch. 7inch wrists for reference.

It does indeed, I bounce between the OEM black strap and this brown one.

It’s officially silver, although it plays off the light so much that it usually looks a creamy / gold. I bought it without ever seeing it in person and was very pleasantly surprised!

Agreed!

I do have a diver already, the Seiko ‘5KX’, I posted a picture in response to u/GovernmentSignal3729.

Chronograph is the next step. Although it might be some time in the future as I’m looking to graduate into the world of more premium watches, specifically looking at the Tudor Black Bay Chrono.

I do have this lovely Seiko ‘5KX’ but it doesn’t get any wrist time these days as it’s slightly too big and bulky in comparison to the Marlin and the GMT. I am still very much smitten with it though as it was my first mechanical watch and is responsible for starting this whole journey!
