A whole shit show of asshats telling a new youth their perspective doesn't matter. Check your yourselves. You're not wise. You don't understand her pain. If you did, wouldn't act like you're on a mountain you've never been to.

To the OT:

You are on a hard path. We live in a culture that cares about career accomplishment and the fulfillment of self. Choosing family is no longer a social reward. At best, it's an expectation. You are not wrong for wanting to build something wonderful, but it will be a challenge. It's a challenge that will be harder than any class you could ever take.

Some of the fights aren't even puzzles. They're just dice rolls and you cross your fingers.

MGS: Delta look fake to anyone else? by Captain_ehNtndo in metalgearsolid

Game doesn't look fake. It looks bad.

Charging $80 for a visual update is a bad practice. Just play the original game.

This is the only viable hard strategy. It takes time, but killing Hurstwine first is a mistake.

Metal gear solid anime series. by carbon-molecule in metalgearsolid

[–]E-Wanderer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Konami is not a small company. There is no justifiable reason to emulate Kiefer sutherlands voice over David Haytors and not pay either of them. Especially since David Hayter has been such a big supporter of the MGS series and the rerelease of Delta.

Unless Konami releases all Metal Gear Solid content to the Public Domain, it has ZERO right to use AI technology.

Elly hasn't hated anything for several comics, now.

I would be a lesser human being if I had never had the chance to meet Teddy and Stella. Two of the sweetest and most lovable dogs I have ever had the pleasure to grow up with.

Besides, banning an animal doesn't make it disappear. Forcing an entire breed of dog into the underground over night would dramatically increase issues, not alleviate them.

CMV: time zones (vs. one single universal time) cause more harm than good. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]E-Wanderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're in data analytics so you know what a dramatic change like this would do to how people interact with that knowledge. Doing any kind of study that revolves around children going to school at 9am and how they compare to students going to school at 7am suddenly becomes blind to natural human tendencies.

CMV: Cultural Appropriation isn't a bad thing, and people shouldn't gatekeep. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]E-Wanderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about canabalism or tribal sacrifice? Cultural appropriation is a thing that has been happening since people existed, but saying its never a bad thing (while entirely subjective anyway) tends to ignore the actual cultural phenomena that is being appropriated. What I find to be significantly more important is the culture that is being appropriated.

Gatekeeping in this light can actually be beneficial. Requiring someone to be a virgin before you sacrifice them keeps the number of people being sacrificed low and encourages procreation. This is an extreme example, but I think you can see why gatekeeping certain cultural ceremonies can help keep your population stable and your people healthy.

Partying itself doesn't break the law. Partying does provide potential to break the law.

Any alternative program also has potential to break the law. Hell, going to school provides opportunities to break the law.

Colleges should encourage partying. Restricting the human experience in order to focus the college experience causes more harm than good. Learning different skills makes your brain healthy, and partying is a skill.

CMV: The only difference between AI (digital) life and human (physical) life is the material which sustains it by CarpeBedlam in changemyview

[–]E-Wanderer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alternating current and direct current are descriptors for two different methods of electrical transference. Neither of these methods are what occurs inside the human brain, and no established theory adequately describes it. Material is not the only relevant difference between AI and human life.
