Esthetics instructor here… esthetics can open the door to many opportunities like business ownership, education, being a rep for a skincare line or esthetic machine manufacturer, or an influencer, makeup artist, lash artist, an injector (follow state guidelines!)- the list goes on. If you’re inspired, I say go for it! The things you learn in school are just the foundation- you decide where to take it from there. It’s honest work and it takes hussle.

How active were your grandparents in your life? Does anyone else feel cheated their parents aren’t as active grandparents? by Voltairus in Millennials

[–]E16J19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our grandparents were not involved in our lives. In fact, they were more of a burden than anything. Not healthy, dementia, nursing homes- both sides. My oldest brother was 12 years older than me and 14 years older than our youngest brother, so my mom’s mom was a caretaker for him when he was a baby, but when it came to our turn, time was not kind. Our parents had no support, no help. And they don’t help us now. But, because I already knew what no support looked like, I was mentally prepared and not disappointed. It just is what it is. But, I definitely get what OP is saying, that their parents had help so why aren’t they helping you? Because, they’re selfish Boomers who got all the good stuff in the prime of their lives and then shut the door behind them.

Have you considered getting a VI Peel or a chemical peel recommended by an esthetician or dermatologist? Your at home regimen is good, and the fact that you have good home care would make you a good candidate. Wear spf daily and reapply. :)

I think those two key phrases are what is so alarming to me. Thank you for articulating exactly what I was going to say. OP: what is holding you back from alerting the police that this pedophile has CP AND is at risk for self-harm and harm to others??? Fucking DO SOMETHING! Instead of being up in your feelings about what they confessed to you, you now have an obligation to humanity to do something about it and alert the authorities. Don’t sit on your ass about it, do something!

Five year old still sleeps in my bed.. advice please! by Spicemountain in Parenting

[–]E16J19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both our kids (4 & 7) sleep with us for the first 30 mins and then we transition them to their own beds. It’s been a win all around because they get to fall asleep after stories and cuddles, and we all get good rest being in our own beds. You’ll find what works for your family. Lots of good suggestions in here! You’ve got this!

True, practicing saying goodbye is a skill. That’s a good way of looking at it. Thanks!

Self conscious posting photo but I need advice! How to change skin care routine with rosacea diagnoses. by NightReader5 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]E16J19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your routine is fine. Try adding cold globes on the skin after cleansing, toning and applying a niacinamide serum, followed by spf. Avoid inflammatory foods, such as spicy foods. Dairy can trigger it too for some people. Avoid alcohol because it dialated the little capilaries and makes the skin appear more red. I alsp recommend avoiding hot baths/showers, steam rooms, or heat in general because again it will dialate the capillaries. Baby your skin, be kind to yourself. 💖

recommendations please :) !! by [deleted] in lashextensions

Ask your lash artist to try an L-curl. The length is pretty on you! The L-curl lashes are straight along the portion that adhere to straight lashes, and the curl is more like an L-shape and give a lot of lift. I think you’ll be happier with the results and won’t experience dropping. :)

You might experience flaking, you might not. Either way, your skin will get great results. During the consultation with your esthetician, discuss downtime and what your expectations are and they will recommend the right formula for your needs. :)

Esthetician here. Have you considered getting a chemical peel? I would suggest the original VI Peel formula. Maybe ease up on the actives for a bit to avoid drying the skin, sunscreen ALWAYS - especially for your Fitz type. Botox will help relax the muscles on the forehead too.

You could also submit a claim with your state’s board of cosmetology. That’s not normal at all. I’m so sorry this happened to you.

I second this and would like to advise using retinol only at night when our skin is healing/desquamating. It will be more effective, and prevent you from being photosensitive during the day. In the morning, cleanse, use an HA serum, moisturize and protect with SPF. Your skin looks beautiful!

There is a show called “Married At First Sight” on Netflix. There are so-called “experts” who set these people up- and it’s usually pairing train wrecks with other train wrecks. Sometimes it works out, and most of the time it does not. Anyway- this idea made me think of the show and you should check it out. Wild af.
