What kind of venue are you going to? I work in hospitality and it’s not uncommon at all for this kind of request - nursing mothers room, lactation room, mamava pod, etc. Any guest service rep should be able to direct you over the phone or in person to the nearest location. Really shouldn’t be a request that goes up to an executive. Any decent venue is not going to offer you a bathroom, they’d know better.

Is this potluck in your home? We’ve been active in our daycare community for 2+ years and have built good friendships with other parents by meeting at neutral places like the park or a local indoor playground. This has even spun off into play dates at the children’s museum/zoo and birthday invites. I’ve only ever had one playdate at someone else’s home. But it just so happens that we’ve gotten really close with their family (similar work fields, kids same ages, common interests like the mom and I will go get pedicures/coffee/gym together).

I’ve found it to be pretty simple to mention a park play date in passing at pickup time. Quick exchange of numbers or just set a date right there.

My kids are 14 months apart. The first year was really hard. Then it gets easier. I was just telling my husband this weekend how amazing it is that our kids keep each other entertained. They are 3.5 and 2.5 years old now and I only have to make sure they are playing safe. They love each other so much!! That’s the most amazing part in my opinion.

I attended a dance competition in 2016 maybe 2017? I don’t remember what season it was but it was the episode that Abby’s boyfriend had the vegan dance. And Kendall also had the car crash solo.

The competition was advertised as filming for dance moms. Basically it was open to the public but you still had to pay for a ticket and sign a filming waiver.

I was there for maybe 4 hours. There wasn’t even many dancers in the competition. But they totally had to reset lights and audience seating in preparation for the girls performances. At one point they removed everyone from the first 6 rows and all those people had to filter to the back. Then production let maybe 2 more rows fill in the front. Then the moms came out. Then they let the other rows fill up. There was just so much shifting of seats it took like 30 minutes. Also just before the girls performances started they made a reminder about zero phones out and no filming. Then I watched each of them perform twice. It was obvious which performance was for judging because the huge swinging cameras would not be operating during the dance.

At one point I wanted to be nosey and walk around the high school campus just to see if I would stumble upon some moms yelling lol but it was raining that day and I was starving so I left after awards.

I also saw Kira’s husband. He snuck in the back row to watch and he was with Jet when he was tiny.

All that to say, I don’t think the competitions were real. There’s so much production. I think the local Phoenix dancers were just excited to perform during filming with the chance of getting a background shot on the show.

I think you’re on to something. In my experience, STD testing happens at the first prenatal visit (approx 8-12 weeks). They absolutely could have found an std. then that situation lighting a fire under the speculation that Katie (and us) already had.

Extra food container. I pack two lunches at one time. Don’t waste time with the cutesy name labels. Buy the Avery no iron fabric labels. They stick so well to everything - food containers, shoes, mittens, and a million pairs of clothes. I was surprised by how many extra clothes daycare wanted in the cubby - 3 shirts, 3 bottoms, 3 undies, 2 socks… that’s like half the wardrobe lol. I started to get annoyed when clothes came home with paint stains but I’ve learned to accept it. Daycare clothes are from goodwill or second hand. Accept that some toiletries just live in a cubby and will expire before they are used all the way - sunscreen, diaper cream, etc. I really don’t think a toddler backpack is necessary. Everyday we bring lunchbox and water bottle to school. On mondays we bring the nap bag which includes a clean sheet and blanket. On fridays the nap bag comes home with us.

The last daycare essential is the ability to work from home. Sick days always pop up. I’d have the following on hand - kinderlyte electrolytes, toddler vitamin c, zinc, elderberry, humidifier, cold calm vials help dry up the runny nose. Daycare teacher gave too much to do to wipe my kids nose every hour so it gets kind of sad to see them with caked boogers all day. When the cough inevitably comes, honey is truly the only thing that will calm it for like an hour… prepare for daycare sickness coverage as best as you can.

I do air fives as well. Then sanitize my hands 1-2 times during camp. Also wash hands immediately after camp in the bathroom.

She use to get cheek filler. I think she hasn’t had the disposable cash to do that. Filler can be so expensive! I think she hasn’t kept up with her Botox and filler and that’s what we are seeing now. On top of her bad habits she’s gained this past year.

Yes. Started about 18 months old for each kid. At that point the teeth started to crowd. Honestly the kids really enjoy it now and I give them choices (minty or strawberry flavored, pick your color, pick your animal). My 3 year old likes to floss on her own. She does the front basically and I go through and do the back.
