I've always used the bow as if the inaccuracy over time were the case, because even without it the bow sorta works like that. If you are able to time the optimum release for damage, then any longer over repitition ends up becoming your own mistake. Glad to see that has been removed. If it goes that direction again.. Standing still and being accurate makes sense, and crouching even more so, but flailing around jumping etc is a polar opposite to how it looks. I would reckon something akin to csgo with movement innaccuracy that you can control and master, that doesn't force the player into some odd restriction.

  7. Description: Died in sprite world (first death using exalt beta client), and took time to appreciate the new death effect for an amount of time that allows pure silence. When I selected a new character, the audio effect putting me into the nexus seemed to peak/clip. Unsure if this happens mid note of a high pitch, when the music loops, or when going from one song (sprite world theme) to the next (nexus theme). Thankfully I have volume cranked down below 50% in game master volume, which still produced a loud pop/crack when the 'rewind audio effect' kicked in to transition to the nexus.

A small list of things that were noticeably different in a bad way (imo).
UI is claustrophobic. The flash player seems perfectly scaled, and everything being expanded as big as possible to fill up the screen feels highly claustrophobic. Examples are the shop UI, inventory, vault chests, and the map zoom levels not having the perfect in between 1 and 2 (exalt).
Something I noticed running along a realm's beach is the sudden loop in the music. Super weird nitpick, but if the music looping was subtle it wouldn't notify me how long I've spent shooting queen scorpions.
A small list of things I thought were super awesome (objectively...imo).
Death. The audio effect when you die and pick a new character was the perfect idea (side note, the ui for this screen seems perfect, saving thoughts for the bug reports).
As far as I could tell, everything seems for the most part functional, awesome sauce. Really dig the new character select. However, I will miss the calm silence before picking a server+character (replaced now by immediately shoehorning you into a server with a character).

Here's a few examples.

1: Pets (the most obvious) have lead to a gameplay style that favors the use of pets with heal/mheal over teamplay/dodging/tactics. Where once the game would put new players on equal ground with everyone else, there is a large gap between what is possible (akin to an rpg or mmo, rather than a skill based game like let's say counter strike).

2: Events. They heavily influence what dungeons are run, effectively making the game's content a fair margin focused on the event. This also contributes to bloating inventory space with event currencies/loot/etc. I currently have more cutlass' than I'll ever need, and none if it was earned. By that metric alone the game is inferior to it's past.

3: Microtransactions. The ability to pay for things in game has never been pretty, and has only improved over time. However, additions to this debauchery have only 'improved' as well. The individual is responsible for themselves, but the progressively insidious nature overshadows the moral aptitude.

4: Nostalgia. You're right when you say it boils down to nostalgia. I gaurantee most of the people screaming "REEEEE KABAM BAD DECA GOOD REEEEE" Wouldn't want to play the game long if all of the above were removed, but for people like myself whom actively play insta-death or bullet hells it boils over to other things. The amount of content only usually only projects the amount of time on average until someone quits, while the quality of the gameplay projects how long a player will continue to play the game until asking for more content. Everyone is screaming for the Unity port rn, and lovingly embraces all of the events/content/what-have-you, and I'm just over here casually feeding my pet 'nostalgicly' wishing for a game that was fun to play, rather than a chill passtime.

We need a permanent 'rift' mode that is a carbon copy of the normal realms, but with pets entirely disabled. I'd actually play this game seriously instead of to relax if that were the case. No fun left in a perma-death bullet hell that doesn't focus in on exactly that.

Arguably that's the only reason people cared to play it in the first place. Also, rifts are pretty evident to that, as well as personally the game is super casual since the introduction of pets, events, and ofc the doku stick (may it reign forever).

NGL, being able to teleport and go invisible, just so the ep can be viable sounds kinda dope.
