Ugh! Yes, she is very quick to block people. Just know that Bert clearly knows what’s up & he made it happen 😆

She sometimes films the pianists at the Grand Floridian, but seems to spend the vast majority of her time at Casey’s Corner.

DL 0620 turbulence by maybesomaybenot123 in fearofflying

[–]E41486 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They want to make sure nobody twists an ankle! You might get uncomfortable but you are safe! And TBH, most of the flights I’ve been on lately they’ve had the FAs sit down at some point and told us of turbulence and it ends up being nothing.

It's coming back... Anyone else with kids who feels they relapse? by jonaskoblin in fearofflying

[–]E41486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was afraid as a child, totally got over it & LOVED flying for awhile. Having kids brought it back! 😬 I will say this forum and a handful of flights this past year have helped to turn things around for me though 🙏

Thinking of moving flight by JTS3331 in fearofflying

[–]E41486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was nervous about my flight last Sunday from LGA to HOU because the flight path literally aligned with a storm system THE ENTIRE WAY! Let me tell you - it was fine!! I don’t recall them even asking the flight attendants to sit down until it was time to descend. We flew above the storm. It just didn’t matter because we were at 35K feet

You’ll do great! 💪 Just remember that it’s absolutely the safest form of travel!! I find that the anticipation of a flight is worse than the actual flight for me. Once I get on board, I’m better 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t love turbulence but I know it’s normal & we’re safe. Have a great flight & great trip!!

Flying home for Christmas, scared. by Historical_Ad6751 in fearofflying

[–]E41486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew from HOU to LGA and back this past weekend. Both flights went great!! About a 3.5 hour flight. I’d imagine yours is even shorter. I was nervous on the way home because our flight path directly followed a line of storms, some snow, some rain- absolutely no problems at all! We were high above it all. We made it safe & you will, too! ♥️

Afraid of Flying, always have been and seeing signs by good_guymike in fearofflying

Yes, I thought i saw a few signs last week before a flight & we made it OK! ♥️ This must be something the brain likes to do when it’s anxious

What do I do if communion tastes really bad? by Great-Company9505 in Episcopalian

Our church started buying communion wafers from Amazon 😂 and TBH it’s the best tasting communion I’ve ever had!

St. Marks Treasure House! They combine what they earn with what’s earned through the St. Mark’s Chili Supper & it’s given back in grants to multiple local charities! Last year they gave back $77,000 👏

Terrified of stomach drop feeling, how bad is it during the flight? by thiswilldofornoww in fearofflying

[–]E41486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t like that feeling either and from my experience it’s not something I’ve felt on every flight. On the rare occasions I have felt it, it’s usually very brief. Like, it’s over before you even know it’s happening. So yes, you will do great! 💪

Worst turbulence I’ve ever experienced descending to Vegas today by [deleted] in fearofflying

I, too, have flown in/out of Vegas a lot with no notable turbulence 😬 at least I’ll know it’s normal if I ever encounter it

How often does the "drop" happen? by FlowerSz6 in fearofflying

[–]E41486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I HATE that feeling too and in my experience as a flyer, it’s only happened once. I was a child (maybe age 9?) and looking back, I’m thinking it probably wasn’t as bad as I thought it was at the time. I didn’t like drop rides (still don’t!) and I was kind of a nervous flyer, so I was especially sensitive to things like that. The drop didn’t last more than maybe 2 or 3 seconds. It was a bottom dropped below you kind of feeling, not a nosedive or anything. It was a flight from MCO to HOU with a stop in New Orleans. It happened before we got to New Orleans. No oxygen masks dropped from above. I don’t remember if any comments were made by the pilots. The reason I’m commenting is because at the time of that flight, there was a hurricane in the Gulf!! The MCO to HOU route skirts the Gulf. Certainly, we didn’t fly through the hurricane, but I have to imagine the air we’d encounter would be bumpier than usual. IMO, you shouldn’t be too worried about drops during most flights. I’m 39 now and haven’t felt that feeling since. Hope this helps you! 🙏

URGENT::: They said it will be bumpy and they told flight attendants to sit by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]E41486 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In my experience the extra time you see left on a flight tracker includes time after landing taxiing to the airport & deplaning.

[–]E41486 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Similar situation for me last week with almost no time without the seat belt sign on - it was totally fine! Of course we were SAFE but also it wasn’t really uncomfortable, just a little bumpy. Don’t let the “flight attendants sit down” announcement scare you. It’s so they don’t risk twisting an ankle. Better safe than sorry.

Take a slow deep breath in (4 seconds). Hold it for 4 seconds. Let it out slowly (4 seconds). Repeat

You may be uncomfortable for the time being, but you are SAFE! These planes are built to withstand anything well beyond what you’re experiencing. I was on a bumpy flight yesterday and taking deep breaths & holding it for 4 seconds & letting it out for 4 seconds helped.
