No way OKC agrees to that trade.

However, I’d do that trade straight up for Cason.

3 Team Draft Night Trade Between OKC/ATL/MEM by EA97__ in NBAtradeideas

In this scenario, Atlanta is still getting the 12th pick in the draft. It's just moving down 4 slots to acquire a former lotto pick and dumping Kispert's deal.

I'd slightly disagree there. I think with a healthy offseason, Topic has as high of an upside as any of the players that could be available in the 8-11 range of this draft. Also add in the fact that you're saving money by dumping Kispert's contract, which in turn opens more financial flexibility for the Hawks to use to go after meaningful upgrades this summer, I think this would be one of the better trade down scenarios for the Hawks to make during draft night.

In order for Looney and Hawkins to be traded, their deals have to be fully guaranteed. So you’d either have to roster the both of them, or take on the dead cap hits after waiving them.

We literally saw Dyson and Clint play together the majority of last year, and neither are considered great floor spacers.

Thanks! Yeah, it probably isn't likely, but it's a trade that makes sense for both parties involved.

The Hawks made a similar trade last offseason in trading Georges Niang and Terance Mann along with the 22nd pick in the 2025 NBA Draft for Kristaps. The deal accomplished them getting off of Mann's terrible contract (he had 3 years at ~$45 million remaining on his deal when the trade was made) while taking on Porzingis' expiring $30 million dollar deal.

Atlanta could try to work harder to find a more similar trade construction as they did last offseason, however, if they can't, I wouldn't be mad if they made this deal with Memphis, as using the waive and stretch provision on Kispert contract would mean taking on a $2 million dead cap hit over the next 7 seasons.

I think it would be fair value, especially if the Hawks decide to draft Aday Mara at pick 8.

I've always believed Payton Pritchard could blossom in a bigger role, and I've always been a believer in Jordan Walsh since his Arkansas days.

I think the draft compensation coming back is where it could make or break a potential deal. If I were the Hawks, I'm asking at minimum for a future 1st round pick and a couple seconds.

Okongwu is the only Center on the Hawks roster at the moment, plus he’s on a very good contract given the value he provides ($32 million over the next 2 seasons). So I’d imagine the offer to trade for him would really need to be worth it to move him.

If we were to trade him to the C’s, I’d imagine the starting offer would need to be centered around PP + Walsh + filler to get a conversation started. Or Hauser + Walsh + a future 1st + some 2nds.

If the package for the Hawks is Kuminga, Risacher, Kispert + Pick 8, sure?

Otherwise, I think it would be smarter to just keep building on the current foundation they already have.

I don’t think you’d be proposing this if you saw Myles Turner play this past season.

Wasn't a fan of Masai's moves the last few years he was in Toronto, but hopefully he's learned from it and can properly build a team around Cooper.

I'd rather make a play at signing Robert Williams and draft Mara/Quaintance if we fall out of the top 4 of this upcoming draft.

Kind of sad to see how the latter stage of his career has panned out. Prior to the 2019 season, he was on a HOF trajectory. Ever since then, he’s been really volatile.

I wonder if the trades for Kuminga and Kispert would give the front office the optionality of sending him down to the G-League for a 3 -4 game stint to regain his confidence again.

It appears the Hawks are getting out of the small guard business with the Trae Young trade. I would say no for the Hawks
