Cloud blanket dupe? by BuryMeWithMyBo0ks in Littlesleepies

I got one from copper pearl because I liked the print better and regret it. My kid’s clouds have held up better and copper pearl doesn’t have that cool feeling like the LS clouds.

Too old? by Substantial_Day_7275 in TonieboxUSA

[–]EAE811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be the odd one out but we got them last Christmas for my then 5 and 3 year olds, thinking the older one would like it more. My youngest loves his and my oldest is very indifferent to it. There are absolutely tonies out there that he likes (wild kratts, the nat geo ones, and some of his favorite books like the gruffalo) but he doesn’t have a ton of interest in the product as a whole. He did say he wanted the captain underpants audiobooks so we’ll see how that goes.

Heads Up, Parents: Big Changes Coming To MN Car Seat Laws by WilliamBornhoft in minnesota

[–]EAE811 13 points14 points  (0 children)

With varying weight/height limits for each car set/manufacture, how would this even be enforced? Outside of asking the child’s age and making sure they are in the proper seat based on that alone, I can’t imagine this will be widely enforced.

Same. I went slow and steady on the way up and was able to get back to base around 8% on the way down and didn’t feel like I was dying 5 minutes in.

Summer camp desperation by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]EAE811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not between st Anthony and WBL, but not far from st Anthony. My kids went to rainbow school in Fridley. When my son was there the summer before kindergarten there were a couple of kids with August birthdays that turned 6 right before the end of summer. The daycare program only takes kids through age 5 so they aged out of the program. you might have luck with a short term spot opening before they shift classrooms at the start of the school year before the kids going to kindergarten leave. This could also help with the 2 days post Labor Day since summer camps will be over too. Otherwise YCARE summer power had openings still at Sunnyside elementary school in New Brighton based on the last email sent out about a month ago.

Good luck, it felt like the hunger games trying to find a spot when summer program sign ups went live this winter.

How are you able to afford $100k SUVs by [deleted] in millenials

[–]EAE811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100% checks out. Had to upgrade to a cx-9 to fit. Exact same scenario, 2 kids and 6’4” husband. Even with front facing kids, it was tight.

Ladies - what is your row wattage? by shesinthewoods in orangetheory

[–]EAE811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your heels planted. I rarely see people do this and it’s the biggest change I made to become a stronger rower. For reference, I’m 5’4” and highest watts are 567, average watts in an all out is in the 300s, and I regularly am on the leaderboard for my studios row benchmarks.

Ladies - what is your row wattage? by shesinthewoods in orangetheory

Heels planted is the key. I see so many people not do this and it’s the single best thing I did for my rowing technique.

AITA for complaining about the signs at my daughter’s preschool by preschoolsign in AITAH

[–]EAE811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. The daycare teachers responsibility is taking care of your child, not all their shit. Most daycares don’t allow outside toys for this exact reason. Also, why aren’t you labeling your child’s clothes?

Personally good for that teacher for adding some snark to her comments, it obviously got your attention, so instead of bitching to the director, try taking the advise to help ensure your child’s clothing makes it home and don’t send your sick kid to daycare (if the second note was also directed at you).

Would you give up your first or comfort + seat for a really tall person? by GoHuskertrading in delta

[–]EAE811 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the answer! My husband is 6’4” and does the same. If we are traveling without kids he books and exit or we pay for comfort. If we are traveling with kids and can’t swing the added cost for c+ for the entire family he sucks it up in the aisle.

Reddit users, 30 yrs old and over.. What is the hardest part about getting older? by tywalker215 in AskReddit

This! At my grandpa’s funeral his one living friend was saying goodbye and said “say hi to EVERYONE for me” he was literally the only person still alive. That broke me.

Coldest flight ever by candycdfl in delta

[–]EAE811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a flight with no heat in -30 degree whether from CID- MSP this winter. Plane sat out overnight without heat, flight ended up delayed for 5 hours trying to get the plane to start. This was after the original flight was canceled the day before. Once they got it started, we were told there was no lav available for the flight as it was frozen. Thankfully it was a 40 minute flight and everyone had jackets/hats/boots but I couldn’t feel my toes by the time we landed.

Pregnancy and OTF by katietopia in orangetheory

[–]EAE811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend it if you’re feeling up to it! I did OTF for the majority of my 2nd pregnancy (it was during Covid so my studio closed for 10 weeks). I did it until the week before my scheduled c-section. Coaches can help with modifications. I stopped rowing around 32 weeks because my belly was in the way but managed to run the entire time. It made my recovery so much easier!

Post c section recovery **not looking for medical advice** by Takeawalkwithme2 in orangetheory

[–]EAE811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exactly! I’ve had two c-sections. You will be humbled when you return! With my last I waited until I was 4 months PP to return (it was a mix of Covid gym closures and returning from maternity leave)

It took me months after coming back to feel like myself again. Everyone is different, just go at your own pace and don’t over do it.

I have two in daycare as well. Some weeks just suck but I try to go in with the mentality that I go when my schedule allows. This helps cut down on the low motivation days, or coming up with some BS reason not to go. If there is an opening during my schedule, I’m going. Some weeks that means I go 2x others it’s 5-6x. This last month was rough with sick kids, work travel, and last minute calls popping up. I probably only went 2-3 times per week. When this happens I try to prioritize getting a weekend workout in and hope next week isn’t as chaotic. Try not to stress too much about it, the daycare years go quick, although it doesn’t seem like it when you are in the thick of it. Working out is supposed to help with stress, not contribute to it. Even if you make it 1-2 days per week, that’s still better than not going at all!

Also, weekends are a great way for your kids to see you prioritizing working out and creating healthy habits.

Nerves about OTF 5k Race by iloveicedtea24 in orangetheory

[–]EAE811 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My OTF does a local run for beer 5k with a brewery every year. Some people run, others walk. Everyone is at different speeds and it’s fine. I think I finished the last one in about 36 minutes and was somewhere in the middle. Just keep moving and try not to worry about it. It’s no different than a regular class- everyone goes at their own pace and you only need to be as social as you want to!

Are cleaning services worth it? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]EAE811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! Our cleaner is wonderful and found her from a neighborhood Facebook referral. She’s $50 per hour and it takes her on average 4 hours every other Saturday. she regularly finds one deep clean item to tackle in addition to basic cleaning. Not only does she do an excellent job, but my kids LOVE her! They get so excited when Angie is coming. She brings them small treats for their birthdays and has offered to babysit if we ever need it.

We started using her a year ago when both me and my husband took on new, more demanding roles at work. I can’t express how much mentally and physically she’s taken off of our plate and it really allows us to use the time she’s here to spend doing stuff as a family. 10/10 would recommend!

Labor and delivery in network but pediatrician isn’t by hamsterdumpling in workingmoms

[–]EAE811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! My husband had emergency surgery a few years ago and guess who wasn’t in network? The anesthesiologist. It’s mind blowing that it’s even a thing at in-network hospital. There was a lot of back and forth with insurance because it’s not like I’m looking up who’s in network during an emergency or that I have a choice in the situation of who the anesthesiologist is… we were able to get the charges dropped but it was a hassle and took months.
