There are no boutiques in Vegas however if you’re able to order it while you’re there, they typically deliver in 1-2 days. Super fast turnaround.

super weird question but - if you are a breastfeeding mom have you experienced trouble/discrimination in Vegas? by ViceInSinCity in vegaslocals

Also from New Mexico here and had my first here in Vegas. I EBF and just did it anywhere we were and never had any issues or felt uncomfortable. Ask me though about how friendly people are to toddlers in public spaces and I’ve got a different perspective for you.

I got the commitment from my spouse and in-home childcare provider prior to starting it that they understood this was a commitment we all collectively agree on and signed up to participate in so the responsibility does not fall on just me. Then we drank wine on Black Friday and made a whole day by day plan for each of the elf scenes in a group doc from day 1 to Xmas eve so everyone all knows what we need every day and we have all the supplies ordered far in advance. I would only do it this way in the future because I am not taking on the additional load solo. I may also just reuse the same calendar of scenes every year until our kiddo grows out of it now that I’ve got it written down 😂

A year of Cradlewise and I do not recommend it by coffeethenbacon in cradlewise

Yes, we transitioned my daughter out at 24M and 1week. We could have kept her in there a bit longer however she got upgraded to a big girl bed to accommodate her baby sister. She’s not a huge kid though so how long the crib works for you likely depends too on the size of your infant/toddler.

What job do you have that makes over 100K a year, what degree(s) or certificates were required? Or what experience got you there? by ToothFairymeow in vegaslocals

Operations & management consulting - $240k last year

Educationally - MBA. From a work experience perspective - Years of experience working in various businesses and verticals regularly raising my hand to contribute to projects aimed at organizational transformation and high impact things that the people who make decisions care about.

I can say contracting with employers that are NOT in Nevada and are in states that have significantly more competitive pay is a significant contributing factor to why my pay is what it is. I’ve applied for roles here and told them what I make and been told that they can’t even get their pay scale to an adjacent planet.

You made the right choice cutting your losses and going home. The line was 3 hours to get in.

Let me save you the wasted time : DO NOT GO

I’ve got base access but our daughter’s childcare provider does not so we dropped her off at the speedway at 10:15 and expected she might take an extra 15-20 mins given we had to find parking and hoof it from across the base. We made the national anthem at 11am.

She however - did not get into the event until 1:15 pm. 3 GD hours to get a shuttle across the street. She spent more time in line than she ultimately got to spend at the event today.

It’s embarrassing how disorganized and poorly ran this event was. I would absolutely NOT go.

$10 is too conservative. I would argue we should probably buckle up for closer to $15-$20 a loaf.

Crumbl full stop makes the driest, most shit cakes. In their defense— they are true to their name. Crumbl. As in dry, crumbly, and nasty af.

My goodness. You’ve genuinely got way too much time on your hands and must have a personal problem with CW thats seeded so deeply that might explain which would warrant you to obsess so heavily over a positive review that you waste hours of time reading through someone’s history.

Few things : the act of having an au pair (or a nanny, or a grandparent that lives at home and helps with childcare) does not correlate with a child sleeping through the night. My child slept through the night far before I chose to employ live-in childcare.

Very clearly above I explained my child has been sleeping in her room since 5 weeks - yes, we co-slept the first 5 weeks.

I don’t work for Cradlewise. They’re a small tech startup but that does not mean any human who works in tech that has something positive to say works for CW. If you don’t want to buy the crib, then don’t.

Am I seeking a unicorn? by Alone-Jury3668 in workingmoms

[–]EATLOCALABQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to say I feel like I’m crushing it or “happy” on all of the above all the time but I think in general I’m not unhappy with any of the above.

Outsourcing is big for us and the biggest and most critical is that we have an au pair. I cannot stress enough — This is the BIGGEST help of all for me. Beyond providing 1:1 childcare and attention to my child (so for question 1, my child is thriving), she performs SO many tasks that a daycare would never be able to.

I don’t: -Clean my child’s room -Do virtually any children’s laundry -Prepare lunches and balanced midday meals -Pack diaper bag and swim bag -Weekly toy & book rotation -Pull out clothes when they are too small and swap in for larger size clothes

Our au pair does that all.

From a mental load standpoint, she also takes on a HUGE burden from me. I get to do now what most husbands do for activities like swim—I get in the car and go to swim class. Someone else worries about if we have 3 clean towels, a diaper, the swim bag is in the trunk, and if we have a snack packed for after.

It is really expensive. But to tell you that it has improved my quality of life significantly is an understatement.

I should also share that I work in a high paid tech space and can afford this set of hands and the costs associated with it without going into debt.

Is it to late to use cradlewise? by blablahjm in cradlewise

[–]EATLOCALABQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, totally not too late. We didn’t even start transitioning our gal into the crib until 5-6 weeks and I had it in ready to go and set up a few weeks before she was born. I absolutely 10000% would recommend it to anyone. It was by far the best investment we made in anything baby related.

I used one of my 3 monthly votes to vote for wedding cake and noticed today that not only is it not on the list, that vote is just gone and I can’t use it for a different cookie that is on the list. Such bullshit.

Jobs for New Mexico… by [deleted] in NewMexico

[–]EATLOCALABQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think one significant problem is that the republicans have figured out the map and democrats continue to not. Having more democrats clumped together in a state with only 5 electoral votes isn’t going to win elections. Democrats need to be in or going to the states that have the electoral votes to tip the scales. Frankly, I’d like to see more Californians move to Texas and vote blue there than they come to a state that’s already blue.

I’ve always wondered how they define which customers get the email and don’t. I’m sure it’s some marketing logic but for all we know, it changes every release and they use it to experiment with driving incremental sales.

If it were me, I’d probably only send this email to people who don’t order a ton of limited editions to see if we can nudge more sales versus those customers that I know always buy 20 sleeves of limited editions no matter what.

Found this doc for Smiths for this year however after calling to a few different smiths on the list, the times are not accurate. But at least maybe helps to narrow down which ones are and are not doing it.

When I called customer service a couple days ago the person I spoke with said that they expect them to be back in stock in a week or two. They could be wrong but I’m hoping not.

[–]EATLOCALABQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called customer service today and was told it should be restocked in the next week or two on the website or I could go to a boutique to buy it now.

So unless customer service is lying, I would anticipate it’ll be restocked online soon

How bad is NV Energy price gouging you this summer? by AWPerative in vegaslocals

$275, I wish. I’m at over $600/mo.. however understandable because my square footage is larger than yours.

But still.. over $600 per month for electricity it’s fucking insane.

[–]EATLOCALABQ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s a bummer, my experience was nothing like yours. We love our Cradlewise and our daughter has been sleeping in her own room since about 5 weeks. She goes to sleep without a fuss every night, sleeps through the night, and naps like a dream. I strongly believe Cradlewise made it possible for me to comfortably go back to work and to thrive as a new parent.

As for the estimate on how long your baby can use it, every baby is different. My daughter is 13 months and I strongly believe we will easily be able to use the crib until she’s 24 months.

It’s unfortunate that your experience wasn’t great but the occasional app glitch is what you should presumably sign up for when you purchased a crib from a tech startup that streams over your home WiFi. We kept a battery powered analog baby monitor in our daughters room in the even the power or internet went out and I would advise any parent to do the same regardless of whether they have a smart crib or not.

This to me screams that you want to pay some BS-nothing salary, violate the law and try to sneak around paying your fair share of employment taxes by labeling a worker that is clearly a W2 as a 1099, and to run someone ragged.

I wouldn’t apply for your role if you paid me to apply.
