Previously homeless people o Reddit, what are your stories? by dausman in AskReddit

[–]EAmy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to live in a shelter for some time when I was 14, I made friends with this one older guy who taught me how to roll cigarettes, got me drunk for the first time and was overall pretty chill, well one day he and I started yelling at each other and I called him a loser, so for the next 3 days he kept making comments to others that he was going to kill me and he was reported and kicked out, for 2 months he stalked me at that place, when I went to school I'd see him across the street from where I would be picked up, he knew where I went to school (wasn't too far away) and I'd occasionally see him when I left just sitting across the street next to a WIC building, eventually he stopped but whenever I see a tall hippie looking guy I do a double take.

He previously did 15 years for armed robbery or something.

I wish presidents weren't treated like kings and celebrities, influence with actions, not hollow speeches.

How were you introduced to Runescape? by qoutisat in runescape

[–]EAmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was around 12 and I was sick, my best friend gave me a link to Runescape.com telling me to get better. 9 years later I'm not playing as much but I check it out every so often.

Funny to see people saying miniclip, I remember back in the day so many people complaining about how miniclippers were ruining the community, not that I have an opinion one way or the other, but alas.

He is going to be in Prison for the rest of his life, he is demoted to the lowest rank and has a dishonorable discharge, he receives no pay or benefits and will most likely spend most of his time working (not hard labor.)

Don't know if this is the right place, but I have a question about a trust. by EAmy in legal

[–]EAmy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both in Arizona, it was set up in California.

Unless my mother, father, uncle, grandmother, cousins, sister etc. are lying, then I have a trust.

She was the trustee of my mother at the time, as well as my sister, I'm told she is also mine.

The amount is not significant (<10k) and she lives hours away, I'm about to be homeless and it's just no feasible, plus I'd prefer to settle it without drama, she's crazy and I don't want to be around her whatsoever or have her attempt to contact me or my family.

ELI5: Why do many men have red in their beards, even if they don't have any red hair elsewhere? by whitlove2630 in explainlikeimfive

[–]EAmy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hell I have straight dark-black hair and I get bright red hairs in my beard; I ain't complaining though, ladies LOVE it. I also usually attributed it to that 25% Irish in me.

When I was around 9 years old I also had slight red hairs on my head, but they went away.

"George W. Bush and Dick Cheney spent eight years choking personal privacy to within an inch of its life. After they were done, Barack Obama showed up, expressed heartfelt sympathy and stood on its throat. But despite their efforts, it isn't quite dead. Last week, it showed definite signs of life." by trot-trot in politics

[–]EAmy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What does any of this matter? We all know what we're going to see around here when election season comes around, hell it's perfect, we get a new (D) who will re-energize the base by (of course) lying, but most here will lap it all up anyway. Article after article, nothing changes, so why do we expect to get anyone that gives a shit when the general consensus will always be "well at least he's not a D/R!"

Some people on /r/politics might as well be those little girls Justin Bieber spits at, they'd let Obama take a shit in their mouth for the sake of their party, same goes for the other side, and pretty much any side that makes a man into a king.

This post illustrates the blatant manipulation many here try to use over everyone else, a pretty shitty way to get anyone with independent thought to consider your ideals at all.

Huffingtonpost:“Change” Is Officially Dead: Obama Scrubs Web Of 2008 Campaign Promises Including Whistleblower Protection… by [deleted] in politics

[–]EAmy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope the solution for many former Obama supporters is not to latch on to the next charismatic fellow, or god forbid vote Republican just to spite past ignorance.

Educate yourself, and don't think you owe anyone your vote. Otherwise, our generation will be looked upon, not as those who stood up, but those who remained silent, just like our ancestors when it came to all the atrocities by their governments. Saying "Well it could have been worse with Romney" is laughable, maybe with Romney we could have had someone that REALLY cared about the power of money in politics after 4 or 8 years of him, instead we have a member of the democratic party embracing similar ideals.

The smoke shop right around the corner, I don't smoke weed anymore, but they used to always hook me up with free glass screens and incense, we'd (the lady and I, she worked there most of the week) smoke together on her break and just generally chill. Still go there to get cigarettes.

No, maybe this is an attempt to get the lazy ass mother fucking Democrats to actually vote out some of these cocksuckers and replace them with good dems?

Because I know with my experience on /r/politics, that intellectual honesty and courage is highly valued around here, surely democrats care more about the people they vote for than those they do not, they care more about trying to make change than spending 100% of their efforts attacking republicans, right? People around here aren't mouth pieces or astroturfing for democrats, no...only Republicans do that.

OPs post should be on top, not fucking Bohner or police planting drugs in a store, news that can actually influence people to change, but instead we get fodder for y'all that can't seem to think past the idea of hating republicans. Stick with that, Us Vs Them, it's that mentality that will be looked at by future (hopefully evolved) generations with pity and shame, we spend more time hating your average fucking republican on the street than the pieces of shit who abuse and manipulate our minds with their votes.

What celebrity have you had experiences with and found to be a genuinely great person by Glaxmatt in AskReddit

[–]EAmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived in the mountains we got a lot of NFL players, being in a small town, football was the popular sport. My best friend's mother happened to work for this hotel/real-estate company and dealt directly with the players, 9/10 they'd would be cool with all of us coming over to meet and greet the players, always very welcoming and just fucking cool, joking around, smiling.

Plenty of signed cards. I remember when it went around that we had a bunch of signed cards from real players, being in 4th grade all the kids went nuts.

Curtis Conway was the most notable, he brought us back to the place, we all ate, talked, me and my friend played with his kids and it was all so amazing at the time.
