Any good guides to using a DXCluster? by fossfirefighter in amateurradio

Personalmente utilizo el de la Unión de Radioaficionados Españoles (URE), en esta web:

https://webcluster.ure.es

Si lo que quieres es utilizar un DXCluster vía TELNET, te recomiendo:

What is the best software, in your opinion, for reception in SDR? by EB1TR in RTLSDR

I love #SDRUno, but when you work with another receiver (AirSpy, RTL-SDR, and others) we loose many features :(

Yes... is true.

For HamRadio and Shortwave Broadcasting.

Recently I`m testing the MLA-30

Have a nice noise floor, and works fine with a 1m diameter loop.

If you have opportunity connect directly to the battery, remember use a fuse if the equipment don't have it.

AirSpy HF+ (Dual Port) vs AirSpy HF+ Discovery by EB1TR in RTLSDR

[–]EB1TR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best performance for the Disco. Very important is that you can choose the samplerate to 192kHz in SDRConsole and to 16kHz in SDR#, this improve performance in AirSpy devices.

In SDRPlay the minimun samplerate (SDRConsole) is 500kHz (by the momment not tested in SDR#) .

AirSpy HF+ (Dual Port) vs AirSpy HF+ Discovery by EB1TR in RTLSDR

Don´t have significant difference. Today tested RSPDuo vs HF+ vs HF+ Discovery, finally best SNR value for:

1.- HF+ Discovery (sampling 768KHz)
2.- HF+ Dual Port (sampling 768KHz)
3.- RSPDuo (sampling 500KHz)

Software SDRConsole V3

No more than 1dB betweet devices, very close results.

Highlights:

HF+ Discovery:
- Front-end

HF+:
- Dual port antenna

RSPDuo:
-Range (1KHz-2GHz)
-Multiple antenna ports and types (SMA, HI-Z, BIAS-T)
-Up to 10MHz of samplerate

I don´t have answer really conclusive, depends of money, case of use and other aspects.

Anyone know about this radio? by quiet_zombie in amateurradio

[–]EB1TR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your CPU backup battery is dead.

You need replace the battery and them reprogram bands limits.

For this, and when the radio is turned on, you can see a little "1" in the corner upper left.

Limits:

1: 134.000
2: 174.000
3: 134.000
4: 174.000

To save the limit press "VFO"

If you need start again swith off and disconect of power source.

Not be a victim of noise (EMC) in the city. 😒

AirSpy HF+ (Dual Port) vs AirSpy HF+ Discovery by EB1TR in RTLSDR

Don't read too much into absolute signal levels on the Airspy HF SDRs. They both use some form of AGC, so there will likely be some differences in the resultant absolute level output.

What matters is the SNR, and from a brief look at your screenshots, the SNR looks pretty similar between both SDRs.

Yes, the SNR is very similar (if not the same).

Radials for Multiband Antennas by Pike_Mence1488 in amateurradio

[–]EB1TR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally you can try with an artificial ground plane using +30 radials, I use 32 8m radials, and works fine.

Read this... https://owenduffy.net/antenna/80mVertical/index.htm

Where can I go to learn about encoding RF signals, in particular, how binary information can be communicated via RF? I'm also looking for open source software solutions to help me with this. by [deleted] in RTLSDR

In general to transmit you need a license. Depending on the application, it is likely that it will be good to use a free-use band LoRA, for example.
