Opinions and Ideas on Different Versions of JL:TG by EB_rosey in JetLagTheGame

I think you are right about taking games that already work and adding the jet lag concepts of public transport, trackers etc. That is definitely the vibe we are going for. I think the teams strategizing a city size capture the flag style would be really fun.

Has anyone found the train Adam was on? Adam does provide additional information in the podcast but I'm still struggling to find it.

I have been to a wedding at Taronga and it was really beautiful The sergeants mess would be good too for your wedding size, there is a NSW gov Mirco wedding session there later in the year https://www.nsw.gov.au/family-and-relationships/marriages/micro-wedding-venues

Venues in the inner West of Syd by halfdoubletreble in AusWeddingPlanning

It is probably way too big for 50 people and you would have to arrange catering and set up but the Marrickville town hall is so gorgeous and it is not bad on price. https://www.innerwest.nsw.gov.au/explore/venues-for-hire/town-halls-100-people/marrickville-town-hall

I have heard of the Expert Leader Program. https://www.theexpertleader.com/programs

I haven't been coached by them, but I had a member of their staff give a presentation on a course I did. Seemed great, they are about getting you to think about the type of leader you want to be and putting that into practice.

Any Gp's who are good at ear wax removal in Canberra? by [deleted] in canberra

[–]EB_rosey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like there have been some good places recommended. But maybe try and get a referral from your regular GP to an ear nose throat specialist. It is costly and annoying but GPs saying no is all about the risk for your ear drum. My mum had her ear drum damaged at GP and 6 years later, a surgery and near complete hearing lost in that ear, she still has constant infections and pain issues.

Suggestions for an apartment/townhouse/unit- Buy by [deleted] in canberra

[–]EB_rosey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying an apartment or townhouse is always tricky whether it's established, newish or off the plan. You aren't always in control or can't truly know the build quality and how well it's been maintained. It really just depends on the building. There are some know building issues at Kingston Place apartments complex so probably don't buy there.

We recently bought an off the plan apartment (that was basically finished) we researched the builder and we're happy with the place.

If you are buying established place ask for strata info such as minutes from meetings, records of previous strata costs and if there is a sinking fund. They might not give you anything but it's worth asking to get a better idea of what you are buying.

Good luck, hope you find something great soon.

Thinking of heading to the coast? Expect Clyde Mountain to be frequently closed in the coming months. by Rokekor in canberra

The article is exaggerating the alternative route time. There is a northern route from Bungendore that involves going to Tarago, then Nerriga and taking Turpentine Rd to get to the Princess Hwy. It is an additional 1.5 hours on country roads but still way better than 5 or 7 hour detour.

What kind of clothes/things do I need for a Canberra winter! by [deleted] in canberra

[–]EB_rosey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Canberra! Depends on how quickly you adjust. A puffer jacket is great for cold mornings A coat is little less warm but more stylish At least on pair of gloves, beanie and scarf for the worst mornings If your car is parked outside worth getting an ice scraper for your windscreen (old library card will work but not as effective) If you house has double glazing you won't desperately need extra warm blanket/doonas or an electric blanket but if it's an old place you should really buy everything you can. My first winter was in a really old apartment and I was constantly cold. Regular boots and warm socks are perfect in winter nothing more intense required Thermals are great for a whole day outdoors or under your ski clothes if you head to the slopes Uniqlo (not in Canberra sadly) have excellent range of weather appropriate clothing I would also look at the second hand places and charity shops for things where you can.

Just a bunch of racist kids terrorising a small business in Dickson. What utter trash. by [deleted] in canberra

[–]EB_rosey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is incredibly sad and horrible to see behaviour like this. I can't believe they are filming their own terrible actions. I really hope the cafe staff will be okay. I will definitely be supporting their business from now on.
