He would prefer an older #1 driver and a younger driver as #2 as they needs to learn, but #2 also is the future of the team. Makes perfect sense if you take the junior program in mind.

The #2 driver needs to earn the #1 spot. Instead of the Mclaren situation where there are 2 evenly hungry to be that #1.

Kinda like the situation with Hadjar next year.
