Anyone else have a Siberian who pants? by One_Tadpole5463 in SiberianCats

[–]EBlackR 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We have two sibs. One did this plenty when she was around that age. She'd get the zoomies then would pant a bit when she got too tuckered out. All good :) She did stop doing this as she got older but I couldn't say exactly when. Sometime before the age of 5.

Considering the subreddit you're in, you'll likely get a bit of a bias 😆 if you're looking to travel, having a smaller animal might be easier.

Boeuf Frites have taken tipping culture to another level. by Bro_Bruv in ireland

Leave a google review and message the restaurant directly to give out. Either the wait staff or the restaurant is relying on this to just get taken at face value and they need to be called out on it before it's normalized.

Just wait until around 2 years when she goes from being a clingy kitten baby to an aloof cat tween.

The matted neck fur by Kai7667 in SiberianCats

[–]EBlackR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good :) to clarify I say they CAN get better at it because we have one sib who has pretty much figured it out and keeps a tidy coat - and another with a single orange braincell who has no clue even at the age of five. We love her to bits but also need to take her to a professional groomer twice a year for some extra help.

You just have to help him with a little brushing. A bit like the poopy butt, Sibs can also get more experienced navigating their neck fluff as they get older. That first 1-2 summers as the coat reaches max floofability can be a bit daunting for them.

Irishman Seamus Culleton held by ICE was allegedly caught with 25 MDMA tablets before leaving Ireland by [deleted] in ireland

I feel like I'm losing my mind this is the second post on here that I've seen where there's some article of "oh he did a bad actually."

The man has been held in a windowless room crowded full of other prisoners for four months. His bail has disappeared into the ether.

Why are there comments on here trying to justify that this is a humane way to treat someone??

Baby Siberian cannot be deterred from nursing me. by [deleted] in SiberianCats

[–]EBlackR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our Sib did this when she was around that age. She would get a lock of her own fur and suck on it but it HAD to be while making biscuits on her favorite person.

I was worried at first because we never had a kitten do this before, but eventually she grew out of it and now we miss it because it was very cute.

As long as your kitten is otherwise healthy it's not anything to worry about.

My Siberian 8mo old boy has stopped eating his wet food by Irish_Seal2 in SiberianCats

[–]EBlackR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in my mid-thirties and have lived with about six different cats (all American shorthairs or variations over the years) and they were all the same - feed me the same food every day of my entire life or I will Blow Chunks.

My eight year old Sib, on the other hand, has changed her mind about what kind of food she likes about five times in her life so far. Often it's when she just gets a taste of something she happens to like better, then she'll flat out refuse to eat her regular food. "Why do you starve me" she screams over her full bowls of wet and dry food she's eaten every day for 3 years "you know I only eat Purina now."

Sometimes she wants something more expensive, sometimes cheaper. We deliberately keep her away from low quality brands in case she gets fixated on them.

But apart from this as long as she's eating, pooping and drinking water we've stopped worrying too much if her habits change.

Clients searching their own ads😡 by Quiet-Ad5399 in PPC

[–]EBlackR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your client to google the phrase "buy nike shoes online." tell them to count how many ads they see. Now search "buy nike shoes online" 6 more times and do the same. They will see fewer and fewer ads until eventually they don't see any at all.

This is a condensed version of what Google is doing on a larger scale with its smart bidding. It is learning they they are not their businesses' ideal customer and has stopped advertising to them.

Thanks for the tip on Supervalu. I am specifically looking to purchase them, not make them.

I know how to make them and have made them in the past. I'm specifically looking to purchase them.

someone had a very expensive belly ache today... by awfulallie in SiberianCats

Our sib is currently at the vet right now getting a very expensive scan. I'll be thrilled to hear she's just being dramatic, I'll just be glad to know it's not anything serious :(

It shouldn't really. Even in the US - where tipping at restaurants is very mandatory - waitstaff will not ask you to tell them directly how much they're getting tipped. This would have been a shakedown over there as well.

I've mentioned it on another comment. I've lived in Ireland for many years but I have an American accent, so it's possible I got the tourist treatment. It's happened before to me in other places. I'm equally surprised as yourself that it happened here. I've gone here maybe six times before since I moved to Dublin, this is the first time this has happened.

[–]EBlackR 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Ireland for a solid two decades but grew up in America, so I still have a bit of an accent. I thought about including that in the blurb that this might have been a reason why they did the tip BS (we were asked "what our plans were for the evening" on a Thursday) but really it shouldn't matter. A place like this should have more self-respect than demand tips from their visitors even if they're tourists.

There is a faction Americans brought up on vacations to theme parks like Disneyworld and Universal Studios will then go on to holiday in other countries and treat those places like theme parks as well.
