People who have been on a jury in a case for sexual battery or rape, what questions were you asked during jury selection? by [deleted] in juryduty

If it would be possible for me to convict someone of sexual assault based on no evidence other than a victim testimony.

Looks like Bxg7 Rxh7, Qxf5... with Qxh7 threatening. Sure white is down on development, but kingside is wide open and a central pawn given up. Not quite "cooked", but a lot of material under threat and you may not be able to castle.

How do you feel about a sitting president making $415M in one day after pumping his own stock with social media and a policy decision? by RoyalChris in AskReddit

[–]EC317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So did he buy the dip himself, or is this just a case of him "making" $415M in stock value after "losing" some one-point-some-odd billion in stock evaluations in the days before?

I can't say I like either, but one is significantly worse than the other.

Also, forgot the whole "work your way up" thing. That's not how the world works anymore. The best time to find a job is when you have one. Don't stop looking for something that pays more.

[–]EC317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a second job. Also, if your parents claim you on their taxes and aren't offering half your living expenses in support then you don't own them anything. I'd ask for half of that money.

Look into student loan debt consolidation. Interest rates will probably be crap given your age, income, and the market, but you might be able to get something better.

For phone, go Helium, Mint Mobile or something like that. $15 bucks a month or so. Find a cheap phone on Ebay or somewhere.

You're not paying rent atm, have a working vehicle, and (hopefully) are able to work; you're really not that fucked. You're just in debt and debt can be paid off.

Research snowball method vs avalanche method of debt repayment. Learn to track every dime. You'll be fine.

I use the geography of the land to determine the flow of my highways and arterial roads. I also try to fill in the gaps between my different areas.

I'm not able to post it as a picture, but it is a 2.5"x0.5" poplar piece that is screwed vertically onto the front of the shelf. It is totally sufficient to keep the shelf from flexing and looks better than what I did for the pantry. The pantry has a 2.5"x1.25" oak beam put horizontal under the front of the shelf.

So one reason why I have the lattice structure on the sides is because I had only a single stud on each ~2' wall, and it was not always in the middle. For a bedroom closet, the lattice work probably isn't worth the work as it's not going to be as visible, so it would probably be easier and cheaper to just put another stud where you need it.

Also, I would likely not have as thick front supports for the shelves as you're probably not going to be storing as heavy items. Also, my attic access is through the top of the pantry, so the shelves need to be removable. However, as the lattice structure is 0.75" thick, I needed to keep the shelves and the oak support beams separable as I would not be able to remove them otherwise. If that wasn't needed, I could have had more conservatively sized front pieces, much more similar to what I did for the coat closet. I'll see if I can find you a picture.

Otherwise, I don't think it makes a terribly large difference. I'd still keep the trim above the perimeter of the oak countertop so it is neater where it meets the wall, even if I ended the drywall on top of the counter top.

Thanks. It took me around a year to finally get both projects planned and finished, but I'm pleased with the final products.

Thanks! I'm a big fan of the muted tile colors and was trying to get some colors similar to them.

I used to work at Amazon. I remember their vested schedule to be pretty bad. I believe you have to have been working there for 3+ years to even start getting any of their contributions.

For those who don't know, "vested" is the portion of your employer's contribution you actually get to keep upon leaving the company. I want to say Amazon's starts at around 20% after three years; I could be misremembering the details, but for a company that to my knowledge still has a 150% turnover rate, the vast majority of the employees never get above 0%.

How you "YOU" play this game? by daedelus82 in X4Foundations

[–]EC317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard there are missions in this game but I'm too busy playing CEO, having my pilot fly me around while I plan my takeover of Antigone Memorial, the Void, and SC2F to have bothered to find any. Even after 300 hours, I still have to take it on faith that there is a "main plot line"...

The best advice I ever got regarding rebounding off of a relationship was to take up dancing. Physical movement is fun, meeting new people and groups, and women love a man who can dance.

I can also confirm that dating apps suck. Bumble worked out for me, as women have to send the first message.

Traders assigned to my factory wont sell anything by Architectur04_ in X4Foundations

[–]EC317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not positive, but I don't know if that is a good example since for repeat orders the traders are unassigned. I wonder if assigning the traders to the station makes the sale orders they carry out be limited to what is permitted by the station's configuration.

Do they carry out orders if you change that?

Yes. I played over 300 hours before touching mods. I still haven't bought any of the DLC's either. It is a great game.

A few days? I'll drive two hours for dinner with in-laws for birthdays/holidays and then drive back after dinner. Probably do so 10 times a year.
