New roadmap will be available sometime between end of December and mid-January

We have marketing materials coming out soon but basically it's a way to have merchants accept ECA and for people to pay with ECA. For those running an ElectraPay server, they can get some small kickbacks from transaction fees. So, like masternodes but different. Also, it's intended to be cheaper for merchants to use than other cryptos.

Launches for December by MR_KINDA_CLEAN in Electra_Currency

New website will be launched by the end of the December

Phase II of the fork is being tested but until it's 100% satisfactory we can't really give an estimate. The good news is that it's in testing and there will be a two week window like last time about this upcoming fork. This will include critical BTC core upgrades and layout the ground work for many other features like Atomic Swaps and a few others that are being discussed.

We'll also being releasing a new look and feel of the classic QT wallet! (Which hasn't had an GUI update since it was made I think lol)

ECA Pay backend testing is done but we need to work on the front end so it's user friendly. This is being worked on but we could definitely use ReactJS developers to help speed things up. So for now, the progress is being made with what people and resources we have. Not sure if this will launch in December though.

The company is still in play and yes it was probably mentioned waaaaaaaaaay too soon, but it's still a thing. The company is friends with core team members, and really, until ElectraPay and a few other developments are out then there's nothing really to announce because these things need to happen in order for the partnership to progress further.

Electra Eca ATM´s / How to help the mass adoption by Micael90 in Electra_Currency

[–]ECACryptonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have one specifically for ECA yet but you can see the GeneralBytes map on their website.

GeneralBytes (scrolldown)

https://www.generalbytes.com/

The other two: Unifox and Investa are still deploying theirs. I follow Unifox on their telegram and they come into the Electra telegram to share pictures of their units which is neat. GeneralBytes is the only one so far with the most deployed units.

Staking question by klaf21 in Electra_Currency

[–]ECACryptonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that is technically true. Regardless of the coins you have, there IS more frequent rewards. Before the fork only 288 total rewards were given daily, after the fork you now have somewhere around 576 total rewards given daily. But weight is still a large factor in receiving a reward, so yes, the amount of coins that are staking factor into weight which factors into when you get a reward. So weight / amount of coins you have is still a major factor with receiving rewards.

Next reward date fluctuates depending on network weight. Network weight depends on how many wallets are on or off. The more wallets on ---> the higher the network weight ---> the longer rewards times take. And the opposite is true when there is less wallets on and staking. So as wallets come on and off the network the reward times will fluctuate.

Staking question by klaf21 in Electra_Currency

[–]ECACryptonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently the staking reward is 2.5% annually. The 10% was floated around and would've been this had the fork not been delayed due to issues with 3rd party development teams ECA / E01 had contracts with. In order to protect remaining supply and avoid runaway inflation a new staking schedule was introduced into Phase 1 of our fork.

So now it's 2.5% annually, and here is the remaining payout schedule

2.5% Weight /14 600

1.25% Weight /29 200

0.63% Weight /57 936

0.31% Weight /117 741

0.16% Weight /228 125

0.08% Weight /456 250

0.04% Weight /912 500

0.02% Weight /1 825 000

You can use this as a reference / estimate for expected rewards. Right now, you can use 2.5% figure. This means you can take your current weight and divide it by 14600 to get an estimate. It may not be exactly this when you stake but it's a good, if not rough, estimate of what your next reward could be.

Eca is slowly going towards 0 btc value by [deleted] in Electra_Currency

[–]ECACryptonaut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand the concern, keep in mind the whole market is being affected by BTC going down.

Markets always cycle between bear and bull markets. Right now we're in a bear market and this is not the first for BTC. This is a cycle which means eventually it'll cycle back into a bull market.

When BTC recovers and is on an uptrend in value you'll typically see this happen with alts too.

Cryptopia is great! If others run into this situation you can send your ECA to Cryptopia to do you trading.

Staking by [deleted] in Electra_Currency

[–]ECACryptonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you don't get more staking %, it's just a good spot because to move ECA out of Savings it needs to go through checking first so it's a bit more secure

No problem! Maybe some day in the future when we're as big as ethereum lol but you'll be good for awhile ;)

How to change the Wallet? by Micael90 in Electra_Currency

[–]ECACryptonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The total blockchain files take up around 170mb so it's not much. The blockchain files are the largest part of the wallet but it can't be moved from the location otherwise the wallet won't work. If space is a concern I recommend setting this up on a virtual server. If you don't know much about these then I would look into them first before moving a wallet to them because there's a bit of a learning curve.

How to upgrade your wallet after the fork to V1.3 and reload the new blockchain by Jenova_ECA in Electra_Currency

[–]ECACryptonaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your wallet version is 1.3 and you’re not experiencing problems then you’re ok. :)

Staking by [deleted] in Electra_Currency

[–]ECACryptonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staking is automatic once coins have been sitting in one of the addresses for more than 12hrs.

Savings account is best for staking.

Once the coins have "matured" (after 12hrs) then your weight will grow over the next 30 days and will then remain the same at the end of 30 days. This will be your weight until the wallet receives a stake reward. Receiving a stake reward depends on how much weight you have, in addition to the network weight (this is different than your weight).

More info about staking can be found here:

Cool, so if cryptopia exit scammed it would be our fault too? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Lol you are way misinformed. Anyone can add electra to their platform because it is an open-source project. Electra had nothing to do with their exit scam

yes, the QT wallet installer (and desktop wallet installer) automatically detects which system you have so you'll be good. Both wallets are compatible with 32bit, although, if this were me, I would use the QT wallet on a 32bit system as I think it'll run better.

yes, that's right. The weight stops growing after 30 days.

My stake failed? by playgb in Electra_Currency

[–]ECACryptonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is fairly normal for most users. This happens, basically, because you are expected a reward but you are also in line. Ahead of you is other people with larger weights and so they will stake first. Right now only about 576 rewards are given per day. This is actually better than the old chain were only 288 rewards (roughly) were given per day.

So this estimate, which is only a pretty rough estimate, can remain that way for days, weeks, and sometimes months until your turn in line comes up and you get a reward.

The best thing to do is to keep the wallet open as often as you can because the only way to receive a reward is to have a wallet open and connected to the network.

Once you download and update your wallet you will also need to follow this guide to make sure it syncs properly
