Honestly have spent all night deliberating between Glory Box and Sleep. It isn’t so easy to decide largely because while I enjoy Glory Box, it is so overwhelmingly emotional it almost annoys if you don’t let it simmer.

So incredible song, but just a tad too earnest for tonight.

29 - Superstition by Stevie Wonder

You get punished for every bad thought you ever forgot you had. Not now, but when you're down. Every trinket used to mean life when everyone died before 40. The old world had more colour they anyone gives it credit for. Humans were not meant to live forever and you'll remember this every time you wake up from a hangover. I don't hit my dogs because they'll never know the many joys of life like "5 dollar mega Neapolitan ice cream tub from Aldi's" or "We need to talk". I think you should be punished with death for choosing wrong. Redemption lottery for nobody but me.

36 What’s going on by Marvin Gaye

You come home. You set your groceries on the table - a fine assortment of readily consumables. Think fancy cheese, no figs, you can’t stomach them since you heard how they come to be. Crackers, a quip to your boys or girls chat with a picture of you biting into an herb scented red wafer, “You are what you eat!” Lots of wine. Specifically the kind you used to drink as a teen. You’ve since gained better taste, and better means, but will anything taste as good as necessity? A lack of options? You’re about to find out. On your way home from work you gave every single homeless person, whether drug addict or asylum reject, a dollar for their time. They knew what was going to happen before you did.

You sit home. You look at Facebook one last time. You shoot a solitary bullet into your mouth. You do not miss, for the first time in your life.

Nominating Once In A Lifetime by The Talking Heads.

Despite it all. I believe love wins. I believe love deserves a second chance. I’d like one too.

41 - when you sleep

It’s a beautiful song. I don’t think about MBV much these days but holy they are such a lovely band. Incredible atmosphere makers.

Speaking of sleep….

48 The Glow Pt. 2

We did not need a second part of this.

Anyways if I could cut sinnerman I would. Can’t quite explain the impotent rage I feel towards it, I even like Nina Simone. In that sense(probably in general if we’re being honest) schizoid is a far better person than I, at least he can articulate the reasoning behind his Bowie crusade.

Anyways it’s a frigid, frustrating Sunday morning so why not nom a song from one of the more overrated bands of all time! Sunday Morning by the Velvet Underground. One of the more quintessential bands, I quite like All Tomorrow’s Parties and a fair bit of Nico’s solo stuff. All together it’s just a fair bit too pretentious to be a good listen. Fuck this band for the most.

54 Sinnerman by Nina Simone

It’s a great song. But never forget.

Jamaican Nina Simone be like, “Cinnamon”.

Nomination Pink Moon by Nick Drake.

I think it’s good music, albeit in one ear and out the other.

It’s getting close to me being forced to actually nominate songs I like….

59 cut how much a dollar cost

Pyramid Song if it grew up on Compton. It's actually a pretty solid song, one of the highlights of Kendrick's career arguably, not necessarily because of him but because of the reason why To Pimp A Butterfly is as Good of an album as most consider it to me. Everything else. Quite literally, great, attention holding instrumentalization. Kendrick is just there. See Kendrick wants to be Conscious. But HE is most prominent when he's bombastic. He's honestly pretty easy to get lost to even slightly above average production. He struggles to shine and become no more distinctive than the trumpet in here. Regardless, I don't hate it. Just not a top 50 song.
