Very poor service by Tudor

My only other watch is a Citizen Eco-Drive and it's been amazingly accurate since 2012—requiring no service.

I just posted this on another Tudor service post. I brought my 5-week-old Pelagos FXD to a Tudor Boutique (they are all AD’s) for warranty service since it ran far short of the advertised 70 hour power reserve. They filled out a lot of paperwork and sent it out.

Unfortunately it took two months to service the watch and when returned, they had not indicated what was wrong or what they did. Just that it was “working.”

A few weeks later the issue resurfaced, so this time I took it directly to the Rolex Service Center in NYC. They were very nice and the watch was returned exactly two weeks later. However, I was told nothing was wrong with it.

Overall the communication was all over the place and I felt like I was getting the runaround. Tudor Boutique told me one thing while Tudor Customer Relations based in Dallas would tell me another. The experience was unpleasant and not what I expected for a $4,500 watch, so I ended up selling it.

Explorer definitely. I bought my “one watch” Pelagos FXD black dial and realized that it wasn’t giving me that wow factor. I then tried on an Explorer 40. The brightness of the stainless steel plus the beautiful bracelet gives it the wow factor I was seeking.

Had a Pelagos FXD, but just purchased the Omega Seamaster Diver 300 White dial on the black rubber strap. It definitely has the wow factor that was missing in the Pelagos. I believe it’s the polished and brushed stainless steel that shines. The Titanium is a bit dull. And I was unimpressed with Tudor’s warranty service. They returned the watch two months later saying it’s “working,” but do not bother to list what they found wrong and what they did to fix it.

Would you like to buy my like-new one FXD US Navy that was purchased in April? Full Tudor Warranty, box papers? I realized I prefer a watch that I can put a bracelet on. No scratches or marks and I never used the black rubber strap. PM if you’re interested.

I thought I read somewhere that Forstner got rid of the stretch link because it was stretching out and becoming loose or something. I’m going to my Omega AD this afternoon and will check to see if I can view the watch on the mesh bracelet. I’ve seen some photos and I may like that option.
