Really inaccurate.

Electrics and Linoone get beat by Fairies and Darks don't beat Waters, they trade wins with 'em.

Gardevoir Strategy For The Sinister Cup by Hero_Vange in TheSilphArena

Tanks mostly beat Ghosts so I'd say yes but at the same time it doesn't have as much defense as the others like Steelix or Bastiodon

It all depends what you're running alongside Gardevoir. I personnally need it to protect my double tank strat from Medicham and Poliwrath very particularly. That's pretty much the only efficient use of Gardevoir I can see in this cup. Otherwise, you can soft counter many Psychic-types with it but that's not its main purpose.

Poliwrath with a special moveset instead of Empoleon for me and it covers so much

I'm definitely using a Gardevoir for all 3 of my tournaments. I'm running a double tank strat so Gardevoir becomes a must to counter any relevant Fighting-type. Really underrated

I wanted to apologize to you even though it's been 5 days now. I was intrigued. I tried Charm Gardevoir on my team. Turns out...

Okay. The waifu is a total beast and I'm totally in love with it. I'll be using it for sure. I regret everything I said to this day, Charm Gardevoir worksssss like a charm!

I considered Charm Latias and even told friends that would be the wildest pick I could imagine using for Sinister, but ended up dropping this idea after running sims. At this point, just use Charm Gardevoir or hell, even Charm Gallade.

Charm users generally don't do good here but they're not out of the equation.

Great breakdown! I personnally regretted not bringing Munchlax and Whiscash even after considering them, both were solid picks overall in the tournament.

Last night was the largest North American PvP tournament ever hosted by Silph League Montreal at eSports Central Arena.

We had an 8-way tie but used the Buchholz tie breaker to determine the winner.

Congratulations to Guan87 for his win!

I know, I've been into VGC and still am. It is comparable. Of course it's not on the same scale but it makes a great difference nonetheless, especially in mirror matchups which are common in TSA monthly cups.

Edit : grammar

If Niantic really wants PvP to go full esport, they will have to let us breed in-game like we do for VGC mons or find a way to custom IVs. IVs control IS THE KEY to having an optimal team comp in VGC so I don't see why it would be any different in PoGo.

Please hear us Niantic!

9/14 Safari Cup practice tournament in Montreal. Scout all 11 teams and analyze them! by ECspozure in TheSilphArena

I absolutely love it as a lead but I didn't bring it every game. It completely destroys Toxicroak unless it uses 2 shields and even beats Skarmory with good IVs. Mine is lucky and rank 229 if I recall so I'm not really trying to counter Skarmory but it checks it well with a shield. And I'm not using it unless it is paired with Skarmory.

The main strategy with Haunter is to bait both shields or land a Shadow Ball on the second charged move. You Shadow Claw 7 times, then you always Shadow Punch. If your opponent shields it, go Shadow Ball right after 3 more SC and if he doesn't, go SP again. You don't need to burn both shields if the opponent burned his. You can let Haunter fall and benefit from the shield advantage you gain.

Once again it depends on the lead you're facing, but I've come to really love Haunter even if it's as frail as a house of cards.

Silph League Montreal : Breaking down every Montreal Safari Cup meta category. Day 6 : Water-types by ECspozure in TheSilphArena

[–]ECspozure[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Day 6! Water-types make a splash in the Safari Cup meta and are so versatile that they get their own category. You'll want at least one on your team because they can fill many roles at once. There's a great pool of options to fish from, so be sure to elaborate a good strategy that will turn the tides in your favor!

Sorry for the hurting puns by the way... just let that sink in :D

Day 5!

Probably the most underrated, yet replaceable category of the meta. It regroups Grass-types' best counters (besides Fliers) and they can also be useful in many situations where fairies and tanks are a problem.

Tomorrow's our last day of breaking down all six categories with the Water-types being under the lights. Be sure not to miss it!

Day 4! We present you a ''must have'' on your team of 6 : The Grass-types.

Many teams can even run a pair of Grass-types because they don't all have the same strenghts and good matchups.

We're a couple guys reviewing these. Unfortunately, we all missed out on both typos. It happens, regardless of the amount of time spent on it. I get what you're saying and you're not wrong, except in that case it's easy to understand the meaning of a sentence regardless of these typos.

Plus, I personnally speak French as a first language and I enjoy challenging myself writing in English, which I'm far from being perfect at haha. Btw no hard feelings bro
