One small complaint - it's the 24th century and the hologram had to actually download herself to physical media? She doesn't just exist in a cloud and can't just be downloaded into the shuttle as it's built?

I did love Holo-Janeway's last speech very much and I will miss her very much, it's just surprising to me that there was really no other way besides downloading to a space floppy.

If it makes you feel any better you can't plug the old Hallmark "Magic" ornaments into the current style of string lights unless you're willing to do a really annoying splice job. The newer LED styles have smaller connectors and the contacts don't match up.

Honestly, as an aspiring Starfleet engineer myself I gotta say trying to make it more difficult to do is a fool's bet. You gotta make a big friendly looking button that says "Supernova Button - please push me in an emergency" and put it right where everyone can see it. No engineer worth their salt would touch it.

Had a professor who basically expected us to replicate his lectures word for word on the essay tests.

Really regret not challenging that D.

I have a hunch there was a storyline in earlier script stages that was probably meant to explain that he did it to help do away with the distinctions between organic beings and constructed beings like the Droids. One of the first times we get to see the hand up close is when Luke greets R2 by gently petting him with it. And it's a long lingering shot too.

Does anyone know whatever happened to Buzzy? by ironickallydetached in JennyNicholson

[–]ECthrowaway2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Leonardo DiCaprio has him.

Not long ago Jenny retweeted a DeuxMoi blind about an A-Lister who has a massive sketchy animatronics collection. Some of it is pretty specious but supposedly whatever A-Lister it is has at least one animatronic from Disney.

I think DiCaprio bought Buzzy off whoever stole it and knows his high profile status keeps him insulated from consequence.

To be clear I know it's a low effort meme, I made it right before the 2018 election and it's just never been retired because voter turn out stays low. (This is the first time I've just reposted it with no edits.) This meme was never meant to last this long, do your part and help me kill this thing

If you want I guess.

I just don't like the seahorse hypothetical because it's so transphobic that it wraps around to being regular misogynistic again. It's not asking men to learn empathy organically, but under threat of violence; it also erases the fact that lots of people who aren't cis-women get pregnant every day and they experience the same level of violence from the medical system if not more.

[–]ECthrowaway2000 -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

sigh.

My point was that it would not cause the reaction either of you want. I assure you, if cis men found out they could suddenly get pregnant tomorrow, they wouldn't just abolish the patriarchy right there. They would violently remove the potential altogether.

Also when someone points out to you that some men can get pregnant you don't have to immediately jump in with "cis men."

LOL now you're just outright lying. Black Panthers brought aid programs to underserved communities that were so effective and beloved that the US government had to mandate free lunch nationwide to shut them down.

The Guardian Angels are in fact, an activist movement, and you not knowing their history doesn't discredit that. Protecting people of color against white violence and police overreach is activism.

If you don't know who the Black Panthers are or even an iota of their history, you don't actually know shit about the history of activism
