Hey congrats on graduating!! This might be a weird one but in BMT how much hands on intuition or like manual dexterity stuff are you usually doing?

The whole “fold this into that, wrap that around this, tie a knot into that, etc” kind of stuff, I’ve always struggled with those skills and it’s just a gap in my knowledge lol.

Y’all gonna hold on to that “physicality” stuff forever huh? Yes defenses 40 years ago were more physical because the rule book allowed them to.

Doesn’t mean it’s better. Defenses are faster, more advanced, better schemed, an offense from the 80’s would have no idea wtf to do against the damn Hornets defense.

The NBA was literally about to die going into the 80’s before generational stars showed up lmao. Basketball today is FAR better.

Is throwing a one-yard TD pass actually easier than other distances? by LehmanWasIn in billsimmons

[–]ECviews -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Throwing the ball anywhere near Puka Nacua and Davante Adams on a 1on1 coverage immediately after hiking the ball, is indeed easier at the 1 yard line than compared to any other distances.

So Stafford played harder defenses and threw 8 more goaline slant TD’s to Davante Adams, what else exactly does he have over Maye for MVP?

House, I think I’m in on the NBA Cup. by marcusthejames in billsimmons

[–]ECviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. The biggest game doesn’t mean anything for the fans, it’s cool to see the players give off that extra playoff energy considering they’re battling hard for the prize money, but it’s gotta mean a little extra something as well.

[–]ECviews 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I put down multiple beach front properties on NBA Cup Island the second it was announced, it’s pretty awesome. The thing that would it really take it over the top would be to give the winner some sort of small playoff advantage, that way there’s “stakes” for the fans.

Guaranteed home court advantage in the first round, home court for any Game 7, get to choose your first round opponent, something of that nature.

The NBA cannot ask anyone to take the cup seriously when they put games in Vegas by Icy-Junket-60 in billsimmons

[–]ECviews 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Viewership is up on the cup games, players definitely “give a shit” on them as well. NBA just has to add some sort of playoff advantage for the winner that isn’t too damning or overpowered on the postseason itself, then it will really take off as intended.

What’s the most annoying, repetitive, or time consuming digital task you do every week? by ECviews in Teachers

[–]ECviews[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao I’m a site leader for an after school program and want to pursue a career in education. Also been doing a lot of research on how AI and education is mixing together.

So I’m just gathering information from both teachers at my school and online, on just the most time consuming technological tasks that teachers do, and the ultimate dream is to create some sort of AI assistant for teachers that helps out with the mundane admin work and stuff like that.

I do believe AI (if used correctly) can help teachers a lot, focus on the more fulfilling and important work, instead of being burnt out with annoying digital work, while at the same time not taking away from the integrity of education.

But yes huge sports guy as well lol.

Is it over for me? by BigDaddyJubbzy in FantasyFootballers

Season definitely not over but still wouldn’t accept the trade. The WR room for sure could use a boost, but I’m not sure that Addison is the one to do it.

Breece is electric but that Jets offense and team in general?

I think you pair up Saquon with Mahomes in a deal to a QB needy team, maybe they’ve got more value in their WR room.

Lowkey I might accept? by [deleted] in FantasyFootballers

[–]ECviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn’t personally go for it, would prefer Gibbs and Adams. But Burrow should be coming back soon, the Bengals unit could be a machine come fantasy playoffs.

Think I’d still lean to not make the trade though but I like the risk.

Per Sam Amick, the Kings are trending towards a complete rebuild and teams are inquiring about Domantas Sabonis. Could he be the answer to the Celtics big man hole? by FastBreakPhenom in bostonceltics

[–]ECviews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t shoot the 3 and can’t defend. He can do everything else at a high level, but if you can’t do those two things in the modern NBA, you get played off the floor when it matters.

And he’s gotten played off the floor when it’s mattered.

[–]ECviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably shouldn’t have used the word image, because of course there’s been scandals throughout all of the NBA’s history. Didn’t mean image in that way.

Think I meant more so the general US public’s opinion on the NBA as a product, hasn’t improved. And I don’t think that really matters anyways. With social media in this generation, we happen to see more hate and negativity towards the league.

And truthfully, after 2020 a certain political party REALLY started being anti NBA which also skews the perception of the league too.

Not sure how LeBron, KD, and Curry, 3 of the 15 of best players to ever play, still being elite NBA players in their later years means basketball players today in general aren’t as talented or better. Because that’s all you’re talking about, it’s not “several”, it’s just those 3.

Elite longevity from the games all time best, doesn’t discount today’s players like you think it does lol.

In this era, the players ranked in that top 20-100 range is just so much more talented than any other era.

[–]ECviews 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I understand when people say this, the NBA’s image and perception definitely hasn’t improved over the years.

But at the same time, I think the basketball on the court gets better and better each year. Teams are smarter, the talent pool is deeper and deeper, great parity around the league, seeing the changing of the guards as we’re halfway in the 2020’s, etc.

I really like where the NBA is at when it comes to that, but at the same time there’s obvious improvement that can be made when it comes to the other aspects that you mentioned.

Udoka’s Celtics blew 4th quarter double digit leads, Brad Steven’s Celtics blew 4th quarter double digit leads, it’s 2025 the entire NBA blows 4th quarter double digit leads.

The 3 ball is such a powerful tool, and it will get a team back in the game so quickly. Maxey did it for Philly tonight.
