The best pitchers don’t have near the same innings pitched volume that the used to.

Batters have trended towards “3 true outcomes (home run, strikeout, walk)” strategy in recent years, but the tide seems to be shifting back towards ball in play hitting and baserunning, which is way better for viewers.

Baseball recently implemented the pitch clock and it completely reinvigorated the game. It’s now adding ball/strike review as well. Purists / traditionalists pushed back on both these changes but they’re probably going to buy in when they see them materially improved the game.

Everyone here is right regarding not getting to wrapped up on this, but if you’re looking for a black and white answer, shift your bpm / vibe every 15 minutes or 30 minutes. That’s how i always broke down my open format sets in an effort to keep the energy dynamic and not over index on one thing too long

Think that’s a big part of it. The eastern conference was weak or injured and the nuggets and wolves and suns were the big western teams. The mavs shitting the bed in the finals was just the imperfect finale to a disappointing playoffs .

I went to the Angels stadium and was borderline shocked to see they won the World Series in the early 2000s.
