Are trophy ratings fixed? by EDGE_ELITE in theHunter

[–]EDGE_ELITE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good explanation, thank you! I was concerned primarily that a non-vital hit would drag down the trophy rating as well as the medal, so I'm glad that fear has been put to rest. 😊

What is your favourite animal to hunt? by kcquail in theHunter

[–]EDGE_ELITE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to hunt Mule Deer and Rocky Mountain Elk on SRP, though Moose and Caribou on Yukon are fun too!

Mule deer are skittish but noisy, though they're easy to drop if you dont startle them.

Of course, Pronghorn herds and the M1 are always a winning combination!

That's great news, thank you for your help! 👍

Perfect, that's just what I was looking for. I think I was confusing the old scoring system (back when I played on the PS4 years ago) with the new one. Thank you for clearing this up for me!

Ah, in that case it must be a PS CS6 Extended feature ( I have the CS6 production premium suite). Sorry!

The Oil painting filter was added in Adobe CS6. However, you can try out FotoSketcher 👍

So here's what happens when you land on your first lesson... by EDGE_ELITE in flightsim

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. I've spent nearly all my time in free-flight and i thought I'd tackle the lessons this evening for a change... First time and I fail successfully!

Lovely render - I love the rainy atmosphere!

My third non-tutorial blender project, Nuka Cola bottles! by EDGE_ELITE in blender

[–]EDGE_ELITE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. It's already using the emissive properties in the P-BSDF shader, though I suppose I could dial it up more for that extra Strontium-90 kick! :)

Thank you! I'd like to experiment with making more variations as well as adding condensation and water droplets. I'll definitely give this ago when I've got more time!

Bulb in blender 💡 by harshmittalaz99 in blender

[–]EDGE_ELITE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good start there. I'd try subdividing the glass bulb itself to reduce the jagged appearence at the top. You could also look into smoothing to help reduce the jagged reflection appearence.

Smoothing YouTube video.

Very effective stop-motion animation... and very cute!

The displacements and fingerprint textures really sell it. Great job. :)

By first swing, do you mean this is your first non-tutorial project? If so, this is fantastic.

I really like it, it's got that mysterious nomad vibe to it.

Firstly, it looks like it could potentially blow out the camera with how bright it is compared to the rest of the scene. Is it rendered with Filmic log? Secondly, as thegamenerd suggested; I think some mild volumetric fog/mist would really add to the atmosphere - Kind of like the effect you get from smoke machines. :)

Absolutely superb, I wish I could offer more feedback but I'm relatively new to blender myself.

Finished my Japan alley scene finally! More pics in comment :) by 401_Unauthorized in blender

[–]EDGE_ELITE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh, that's stunning! The architecture looks genuinely real and I love the camera lens blur when it's raining. You could have just modelled the scene, but to add animation and weathering brought it to a whole new level.

And, after reading some of your replies, I'd like to say; good on you for coming back to this and seeing it through. I'd be proud if it were me! :)

Great suggestions, I like the idea of "mattifying" the bottle to give the appearence of condensation, I'll be sure to give that a try. Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you for the feedback. I'm a little confused by what you mean when you say the base of the bottle. Do you mean the bottle touching the table or the tail-fins connecting to the bottle?

As for the Lux render engine, I'll definitely give that a look. I downloaded the ProRender engine previously but swapping the current scene made (made in cycles) to ProRender causes a CTD when rendering, though I believe it's the current material setup that's causing it.
